Is Audi going to use that 3.2 liter V6 forever? Audi needs to 86' that engine fast. Its bringing them down.

270 horsepower is plenty good for the Q5. Good enough to allow it to tow more than any other cute ute (even tough horsepower isn't the deciding factor in towing)

They did give it a little more power in this application but it's still a lagging engine. You know that BMW will put the N54 in the new X3 and it will blow the doors of the Q5. The Infiniti EX35 also has 290hp but that's an odd car in general--literally no rear seat legroom and a tiny trunk. It has sold far below Infiniti's expectations. I think the Q5 is the best in class right now, but BMW will probably correct the X3's numerous faults and deliver another first-rate product.

I don't know what's stopping Audi from putting more effort into their V6 engines. The A4 and A6 3.2 models are pathetic and I'm so relieved that the A6 is getting the 3.0"T" as its main unit.

I agree that the 3.2 engine is the last one I would have chosen if I were running the company. It would have been the perfect platform to introduce the 3.0TDI engine to the US however. I would have marketed the hell out of that! It gets something like 40+mpg with that motor. I think I could have come up with a darn good marketing campain tying the two together.

Love it. Diesel would be the only way to go.

The Lincoln MKt should have been made with a Diesel, so they will likley loose sales to the A5.
