2010 Ford Shelby GT500 unveiled
Using the already aggressive design of the 2010 Ford Mustang, Ford has made numerous aerodynamic upgrades including a new front end that optimizes air flow along with a new lower-drag rear spoiler. Ford has also added racing stripes this year on both the coupe and convertible models. Of course, Shelby’s exterior modifications are rounded off with the signature Cobra badges on the front grille and front fenders.

Ford says that the SVT team “used the gains made on the 40th anniversary edition Shelby GT500KR “King of the Road” Mustangs as the performance starting point and built from there.” The Shelby GT500KR’s 540-hp supercharged 5.4L V8 was thrown in the 2010 Ford Shelby GT500. However, the aggressive new exterior design enhances performance through a new power doom hood that helps cool the engine through a hood extractor to remove heat from the engine and a “Gurney Flap” spoiler to tune rear downforce. Shelby’s...

WOW! The exact same as the 2008 Shelby waste of money GT500 with the 2010 ford mustang touch ups and there is a good chance there is a price jump.

I'd like to see a Mercury Capri version with a wood dash and Bling-Bling Wheels.

I bring women to the dealer to look at Mustangs they like it but say "What else do they have?"

I really don't want to look at a black plastic dash on a 3,000 mile vacation trip.

Mercury had a great niche years ago with Capri and Cougar.

Mercury is the red-headed stepchild of Ford that caters to those that want a Ford with a little more flair and options but don't want a Lincoln.

Now if they would just offer that motor in a Crown Vic I'd be all over it.

Kaner, you nailed it on the head. Ford needs to dump Mercury just like Chrysler dumped Plymouth.

I wasn't really impressed with the new mustang, but this changes my mind. This looks like an amazing car and it now has 540 hp. I'm going to have to test drive this one.

This vehicle is only for those that appreciate the mystique and experience that it offers. If you want a GT-R then you will not be happy with this vehicle. However, for those that love the feel and attitude that this vehicle offers it will be darned near perfect!! It should be one wild ride!!

I doubt it, but it would be awesome if they tuned the suspension and dropped the weight. We know this will be hella fast in a straight line but I wish they would tighten the suspension so it could compete with the M3s and such of the world.

I like how the Stang looks but my idea of a true American sports car is the Vette.

When is Ford and Shelby gonna get smart and realize their cars will fly in a straight line but the first curve you throw at it it completely blows it. The underpinnings are as out-dated as Shelby himself. Spend less on the badges and stripes and make the car corner better.

don't let a little rear axle hop hitting a bump in the middle of a corner ruffle your skirt.

Well, nowdays the Mercurys tend to be rebadges probably because Fleet Rental Companies try to strongarm the price.

It wasn't always this way. Mercury did have a nice nich in the late 60s and 70s.

Buick had the Riveria, Mercury had Cougar and Capri.
