The Best Car To Be Seen In Or Just The Best Car To Drive? Maserati Gran Turismo Review

The Best Car To Be Seen In Or Just The Best Car To Drive? Maserati Gran Turismo Review
If you can talk about the Maserati Gran Turismo high-performance coupe for more than two minutes without using a naughty innuendo, you should get a prize. We'll try to remain prizeless.

Just looking at the $121,000 GT is enough to make you vibrate, so you can imagine what happens when you actually drive it.

You lean into the throttle coaxing the Maserati-designed, Ferrari-built, 4.2-liter V-8 into delivering as much power and speed as your lawyer and bank account can handle. And you wonder: If this is a car, what are all those frumpy lumps of metal getting in your way? Or, if those are cars, what on earth is the GT? Because it's sure not like those.

Fot that much money I could get a Corvette ZR1 and get to 60 a second quicker and pick up a new Hublot watch to go with my Vette.

You can do 1 better. You can get a Z06 and modify it to a ZR1 since its basically a Z06 with carbon fiber bits, carbin ceramic brakes and a supercharger.

With a Corvette you would lack the refinement and the prestigious name of a Maserati. The title of this thread didn't say "The best car to go fast in". How fast a car can go doesn't mean it's the best car to drive or the best car to be seen in. Obviously the ZR1 is the faster car but I think if you take the time to look at this Gran Turismo you'll start to appreciate it. I was actually in a dealership looking at this on New Year's Eve and it's one handsome Grand Tourer. The sound it produces is awesome as well.

Speed obviously goes to ZR1
Luxury, quality & refinement goes to the Maserati
Curb appeal ...that's all subjective but ZR1 and GT are two different cars.

One of the best looking cars, but it fails to compare performance wise with the others.

This is the best looking car on the road. We haven't seen a car this beautiful in the last few decades. I never thought I'd say this but... it's worth buying on looks alone. You don't need that much more speed. I'm in love.

I'm with you on that one. Not since the Duesenberg SJ has one car inspired me to drool, until now. IMHO, I'd rather drive that car than bang a chick!

Ladies and gentlemen Scotty's dead, reborn as Kthorn. And I must say I already feel so much smarter. Yes I love long walks on the beach, computers, and now BMW's. Thanks Kthor, you are such an inspiration. Keep on keepin on!

Hey OP (I mean kthor), you can take the photo of the poor stupid bastard off your persona, you got the wrong guy. Nice to know I'm getting under your skin though. It's what 78 degrees in Florida these days? Did you happen to notice in one of my previous posts I stated it was too cold to go outside? You got the wrong guy you douchetool! FYI the real reason your colon hurts is beacause you own a BMW, and that's the price you pay to get it serviced.

It's a good car but i would always go for the Jaguar XKR / XKR-S, especially as the new Jag will have 510hp very soon:)

Hey Kthor (or ObesePig whatever you're going by these days) If your colon is still killing you turn around and see if you have a BMW service writer sticking out of your ass... If you do this is the first indication your full maint program has expired.
