Hyundai Allowing New Buyers To Walk Away Scott-Free From Their Car Payments If They Lose Their Jobs?

Hyundai Allowing New Buyers To Walk Away Scott-Free From Their Car Payments If They Lose Their Jobs?

A decade ago Hyundai pioneered America's Best Warranty™. Now we're providing another kind of confidence. Finance or lease any new Hyundai, and if in the next year you lose your income*, we'll let you return it. That's the Hyundai Assurance.

Starting today you can feel good about buying a car, despite these current times. If you find that you cannot make your payment because of a covered life changing event, we'll allow you to return your vehicle and walk away from your loan obligation - and in most cases we will cover most, if not all of the difference.

*See your participating dealer or the program certificate for complete coverage details. Hyundai Assurance is valid on any new Hyundai model financed or leased, for up to one year after purchase. Restrictions apply.

This can't be cheap!

I wonder what percentage will be returned?

Will others have to follow?

Hyundai is now beginning to take the lead instead of just following... i'm impressed. I never expected to consider a Hyundai a decent vehicle but i was proved wrong. They have made an amazing turnaround and deserve to be congratulated.

Get into the much fine details, and they cover only up to $7,500.00 benefits. This promo is also offered by GM dealers using an outsourced finance/insurance company called "ING" and they promote "Walkaway Insurance"...Not much here, other than great marketing, that's or sure!

But damn good marketing if you ask me. Just wonder what the cost implications will be.

Okay, looks like we have another troll pop up. 001, is it possible to create a feature that allows registered users to block a particular user from being seen? If you need help coding it, I'm more than willing to help!

LBQ you just keep on keepin on! Don't let these posers spoil your fun. Thank you for taking the time to introduce yourself.

Most of these guys sit here and spout their opinions like they'll ever be able to afford one of these cars. They do it because they're lacking a little something between their legs and this comforts them. BTW, what is it about the Lexus you like most?

Looks like Hyundai is ignoring the recession, anyways I like what they are doing...and it should get more people into their showrooms. Who knows maybe it can help them be recession-proof?

I would never buy a car if I think I am on the verge of being fired.

This deal only benefit Hyundai, unless they are giving back the 30% down.

Seems to me Hyundai are really hurtin'.

Hyundai should go to church and pray the Hyundai Genesis doesn't fail.

BMW should totally do this. I can't imagine anyone walking away from their Bimmer, even if I lost my job I would never walk away from my Bimmer. It would like totally work for them, not to mention their sales would destroy Hyundai's if they did.

More desperation on Hyundai's part
People aren't moving on Genesis
Sales are down for the 4th straight year
TRaffic is lower, even with an all-new lineup
They try to go below 0%
Doesn't cheapen the brand at all
Why commit to us?
We're only Hyundai!

Yeah, it's called a marketing scam.

Snake oil!

A Ponzi scheme!

I'd feel like a misfit driving a Hyundai :o

Hyundai will build loyalty from this move. Maybe not from the Hyundai haters. It's a statement of confidence.

10/100 bumper to bumper warranty offered
+
Walkaway insurance
=
sane purchase from a company that plans on being around for the customer for a while

they could take it a step further and declare that they don't need customers, start begging for handouts from the government. Hyundai is not so extreme apparently.
