AutoSpies.com Lets Everyone Become The Paparazzi With Mobile Photo Galleries And Innovative Live Photo Ticker
The Spies didn't want to waste ANY time, so we're launching 2009 with a bang with some really awesome new features and a major re-design to our website.

As you can see, there are ton of changes but the two coolest new features are our new mobile photo galleries and the all new and innovative live news, photo and comment tickers, running at the top of the homepage.

Rather than having to sit back and wait for the editors at old-school blog sites post content, any AutoSpies.com user has the editorial ability to post auto news, personal stories, photos, videos, reviews or opinions on the network themselves.

See a cool new car or just a gorgeous ride? At a car show or newsworthy in your area? See a hot girl or guy driving a cool car? Got some great road trip photos? See something funny that's car related?

Then shoot a picture with your cell phone or your digital camera and email it to mobile@autospies.com (Be sure to name the photo in the subject line of the email) and once approved by our editors, your photo will be streaming live across our photo ticker in the news center! Then discuss your photos with car enthusiasts around the world! VERY cool!!!

And our new blog comment ticker makes it easier to track where the action is at AutoSpies.com. The latest comments are always streaming across the ticker and you can click on them and it will take you directly to that story to get into the discussion.

Rather than us talking about we'd prefer to see all of you enjoying the fruits of Agent 004 and Agent 00A's labor.

Enjoy the ALL NEW AutoSpies.com for 2009!

Can't wait to see the first photos!!!!

Official Press Release:

AUTOSPIES.COM LETS EVERYONE BECOME THE PAPARAZZI WITH MOBILE PHOTO GALLERIES AND INNOVATIVE LIVE PHOTO TICKER

San Diego, CA. January 6, 2009 -- AutoSpies.com announced today that it has enhanced its popular automotive social network with new user interaction tools that allow anyone to post mobile photos or news, into the innovative new homepage photo and news ticker.

“Now anyone can shoot mobile photos, email them to mobile@autospies.com and in seconds be sharing them with auto enthusiasts around the world.  These new social networking tools empower readers with new levels of interaction found on no other automotive website", said Donald Buffamanti, CEO and Founder.

The AutoSpies.com user interface has also undergone a full redesign that makes it even easier to navigate, submit content or interact with other users of the website.

Another key new addition, is the live blog comments ticker that allows everyone to see the latest comments streaming on the homepage without having to search the site to see where activity is happening.

It allows a reader to see and click on ticker comment and immediately engage in the discussion..

“We've enhanced and improved the user experience on almost every level and the new features encourage even more reader involvement. Rather than having to sit back and wait for the editors at old-school blog sites post content, any AutoSpies.com user has the editorial ability to post auto news, personal stories, photos, videos, reviews or opinions on the network themselves", said Chip Grueter, Chief Technology Officer of AutoSpies.com and President of Dealerrater.com LLC.

AutoSpies.com was founded by Donald Buffamanti, former SVP of MP3.com, and former technical advisor to the President of Apple Computer Canada; Chip Grueter, President of Dealerrater.com LLC; and Greg Flores, co-founder of MP3.com.  The spy chiefs have built a social network of thousands of industry employees, analysts, dealers and car fanatics who routinely leak information—spy photos, next generation product plans, unpublished rebates, and performance failures—to their news network.

Since 2001, the AutoSpies.com team has taken it from a vision to one of the largest and most respected car sites on the World Wide Web, getting visits and interaction from millions of readers per month.  AutoSpies.com is one of the highest ranked auto information sites on Google, Yahoo, MSN and other major search engines. AutoSpies.com is also featured on a weekly television segment on SanDiego6 News.

What is wrong with you guys, de-boost 001 for updating the site with a new format? Geez!

001- looks great, and I'm having no speed issues with page d/l times or anything like that. And I'm using a three-year-old laptop that needs to be upgraded!

Happy New Year everyone!

Just signing in to let you know that the new Autospies.com is very slow and laggy.

Nice to see the revamp.

Damn, just when I was getting use to the old GUI.

I agree -- I wish people's usernames were more prominent as well.

The home page doesn't jump up and down anymore!!!!!! That issue pissed me off to no end. Thank you for fixing it.

You didn't by chance add a karma system as well?

It looks nice, 001.
But you've made it much more TROLL-friendly.
Does the legal disclaimer cover protection for the inevitable f'up by submitters for their safety, or just your own?

I just wish you would've kept the usernames on the top left when writing comments cuz first thing I do is check who's writing. Everything else is fine.

I think you've done an awesome job on the new layout! Good job! Only feedback I have is regarding the usernames being at the bottom of the comments. If it was up it would have been better, but other than that, it's all good, and its faster than the old one.

i like it but you can't tell who responded to who. othere than that, i like it.

Although it's just as badly laid out as ever it's WAY slicker now. Great job to whoever designed it. It is on the slower side though.

And people who say otherwise, you can see who replied to comments easily--the main comments are dark gray and the replies are a lighter shade. The only thing wrong with the posting format is the fact that I still don't seen an editing option or font options, and the names under the comments are pretty small. It would be better if they were under the avatars.

Yeah, the new one looks slick. Old one looked very ancient.

LOL I got it backwards. Main comments are light gray. Replies are darker.

Yeah, the new site looks 10x's better. One problem, when I go to autospies on my blackberry, I can't log in, which means I can't reply, boost, or deboost, but I can read the site's content. Is there a fix for this, the old layout was the same way. Again, I like the upgrades to the site, it looks more professional and user-friendly once we all get used to it.

I'll borrow a cohort's Blackberry and look into this for you. As long as you have cookies turned on, it *should* work.
