Nissan GT-R Spec-V makes its official debut
After all the spy shots and leaked details Nissan today has finally dropped the info on the new Nissan GT-R SpecV which goes on sale at seven Nissan dealers in Japan on February 2. Nissan says that the GT-R SpecV is designed for drivers “who desire race car-level performance in a street-legal vehicle.” Nissan wasn’t very technical about the details but the Japanese automaker did say how it used a lot of weight-saving elements with new unique body modifications, interior upgrades and performance enhancing equipment.

The new Nissan GT-R SpecV includes a new carbon fiber rear-spoiler, a carbon fiber grille, and carbon fiber brake ducts. It will be available exclusively in Ultimate Black Opal body color. The inside of the car gets a...

can't wait for the numbers. It seems Nissan has done Ferrari like modifications which is small increase in engine power but big weight savings with lots of carbon, example Scuderia.

The new V-spec does probably have more BHP than the regular GT-R but nissan won't put in on paper. Thats how it was with older generations of the V-spec.

Looks more menacing than the "base" model, but is it worth a $100,000 premium? I was liking what I read until I saw the price of entry.

Don't go based off of a currency conversion. This car would be priced around US$100k.

but you would pay it for a chevy? (corvette zr 1)

You aren't buying a 100k nissan, you're buying a 100k nissan GTR. Important difference.

People have already done that with the base car. Don't see why they wouldn't for this.

Now lets see how THIS GTR does against the ZR-1.

Thank goodness the ZR1 doesn't have a worthless carbon fiber rear spoiler.

This car is going to cost around 100K-120K, so says my cuz who is connected to Nissan. Currencies are unstable and then we know that an M3 costs over a 100K in many places in this world which is twice of the US. It costs a hell lot more even in Germany where it is actually made.

Some folks here have to realise that comparing the Spec-V to the ZR1 is not like comparing chalk and cheese but more like apples and oranges.

Both cater to a different mindset.
If you want a huge V8 with a lot of American Muscle and a purish driving experience, get a ZR1. It is supercharged as well with no lag and decent efficiency as well.

On the other hand, if you are looking for a V6 with blown turbos ( I love the Turbocharger whine and you can now control the boost pressure on the fly inside the cabin in the Spec V o.0 ) Launch control is a great feature, especially on damp or wet pavement.

I tend to lean towards the GTR but the ZR1 is amazing as well. After all, Jeremy Clarkson cannot be wrong.

Real men dont burnout in front of other men to show off performance. Hell even a honda civic can do that. You want to show performance you do it on the track. Not some 1/4 mile paved strip.

Nissan should do a lightweight high-performance RWD model a la Porsche GT2 or GT3. Why not see what the GT-R can do without the AWD system and all of it's weight? Or how about a 'Z' with the GT-R's motor?
I'm just not a big fan of the AWD and trick computers. A good sports car should scare the shit out of you from time to time. The GT-R makes things too easy for the driver.

I second that pushrod27, they should take the Exterra chasis and make a lightweight all wheel drive GT out of it. Rebadge it as an infiniti and call it a GX6M-GT-R, the move will give chuckg37 another reason for living. Who's your daddy? Denny Crane. Pop goes the weasel.

You know what BSBB, I was held A LOT as a child and I'm not a retard. I came into this world suckling on a breast, and if I'm lucky, I'll end life suckling on a breast. So anybody who's against breasts is against life itself. And just to show you there are no hard feelings, I'm going to sleep with your wife, is there a Mrs. BSBB?

People that buy the v spec will not be concern of what the market does. And making the GTR just a RWD vehicle is like saying we need to put a V6 in a corvette. It just wasn't meant to be.

Certain Cars are more $$$ in other countries due to the volume they sell is lower than in the States which sell more. So US high volume sales allow for lower prices. The GTR-V should be under $120K to compete. Will be interesting to hear more on Perf #s. I heard they were just going to lighten the car, beef up the brakes, and of course make visual differences from the standard GTR.

Apparently they will increase boost as well. Lets see what happens :)

IT's the Japanese American attitude that our generation thrive on because the Big three was to greedy to build quality cars that our parents and grandparents could rely on. Thankfully those same Japanese American decide to build thier cars right here in the U.S.A....so I guess you can call us that.Oh BTW Tasteless would be those buick standards that you look AT, as being appealing.
