Nissan GT-R receives rear wheel drive (RWD) from Blitz
The Blitz Nissan GT-R, which is being developed for the Japanese D1 drift series, came as a big surprise for many in the ongoing Tokyo Auto Salon. Mr. Kawabata, a Blitz spokesman, said that Blitz intended Nomuken to drive the GT-R in an upcoming D1 series, although they will not confirm any dates, 2010 is a possibility. The vehicle is not yet completed but weight, which cannot yet be precisely measured, was significantly reduced due to the removal of its AWD system.

New exterior features include Blitz ZRR suspension, top quality Blitz Carbon Infusion carbon bonnet, and BRW09MAG forged magnesium wheels.

By removin the AWD it would shed bout 400 pounds and by using carbon fiber on most existing parts it would then shed bout 200 pounds just as it would on the V spec. Now how the car would preform in launch mode is a different story.....But i guess if you are just going to drift it, it really doesn't matter. It would be KEWl to see if it can still run in the low to mid 3's though.

I would like to know what "Infusion carbon" is...
I wouldn't drift a 75k+ supercar if there is a risk of crashing it at every turn. Otherwise, great GTR!

That's what they mean by "infusion".. It's basically just adding the resin after a full vacuum inside of adding the resin and removing the excess.. It's really not that special and is inferior to actual "top quality" pre-preg carbon(aka dry carbon).. I guess they just want it to sound fancy and high tech when it's really not..
