Descent? Does that mean that it is falling?
Call me naive, but why does this not go to a North American car maker?

Congratulations Hyundai. Further proof that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. It worked for Lexus (and Infinity on a longer time table). Timing also helps a lot. It appears the timing for Genesis seems to have been remarkably spot on. Interesting I think. Again, remember Lexus? Clearly, it appears, that the definition of the word 'Genesis' has taken root deep into the soul of this company. Silly thought? Well remember where they were a mere 10 years ago? Now the pressure is on to see what they will do next with not only the 'Genesis' line, but the entire range as well. Don't bet against them.
In my own experience with Hyundai, I have had 5 of there vehicles over the years. Each one better than the last. Perfect, no. But always improving, getting closer and closer to there competition. In fact, the last one I had was the best car I ever owned in one critical area: it never had a single problem. A compliment I can not make about any of the other New cars I have had in my life (over 20 so far). Period. No matter what brand name it may have been.

I dont see anything new with the Genesis, its simply a copycat to get noticed. The reviews for it have been less than impressive. While I dont agree it should of won NACOTY, its still a step up for Hyundai. Would I buy it over a Mercedes or Audi? No chance. Id consider the new Taurus or Fusion over this as well.
