Chrysler 200C Concept makes its debut in Detroit
The recently unveiled Chrysler 200C EV concept is intended to underscore the future designs including powertrain technology of its premium sedans. The enhancements continue into the interior where the vehicle will come with “techno leaf,” which is a multimedia screen for both driver and front passenger.

The 200C EV is decidedly an eco-friendly package with rear-wheel drive powered by a plug-in hybrid powertrain which comes with a 268hp (200kW) electric motor on lithium-ion batteries as the main power source. A secondary power source is a compact internal combustion engine which activates to charge the batteries when it senses that power is about to be used up. This system enables the car to reach 40 miles on an all-battery power with zero emissions and in excess of 400 miles when the gasoline engine is utilized. It comes with an acceleration rate of 0-60mph in 7 seconds, can finish the quarter mile in the mid-14 seconds, and attains a top speed of more than 120mph. Even though the concept car’s powertrain have been utilized in other vehicles which are also being showcased on the Detroit Auto Show, the 200C EV concept is an advance demonstration of the new design language of Chrysler.

Its a concept just like any other concept, shiny. But, I doubt the production model will be any good in any way possible, why? Because product quality is in the genes, and the garbage 3 don't have that in them.

Kind of reminds me of the MB C-Class. Looks good though and will only be a winner if it does come out that way!!

more like the G37. Wasnt something similar posted this morning then removed. I made a comment that this could be their direction with Nissan's involvement.

Very nice Chrysler, keep the production model as close to the concept model, don't water it down.

But, will it come too late in the game?

Chrysler must - and I repeat MUST - put this car into production and replace the god awful 300C. They should call this car the Chrysler Economic Lifesaver or the Chrysler Wemightnotgointobankruptcyagaininthenearfuturebecauseofthiscar. It looks good and as long as they put good quality, efficient engines in it, it's a winner.

Chrysler should just kick this puppy out there and slap a Hemi in it as the top-of-the-line engine and get back into the luxury market. If Hyundai can do it with the Genesis, I see no reason why Chrysler couldn't. They just need a well rounded sport/luxury type sedan, and I think they could be back in the game. The 300c isn't cutting it.

Great car. When does it go on sale? Oh, its just a CONCEPT right now. Yeah, and me ever shopping at a Chrysler dealer is a good sounding concept too.... Detroit, SHOW ME THE (REAL) CARS!

Wow, that's ugly. Chrysler's throwing haymaker punches now trying to connect with the market. Somebody ring the bell cuz they need some relief.

Don't get attached to the lovely curves... this will end up with a very prius-esque shape if it makes it to production. Aerodynamics say so.

Don't forget. Chrysler is known for bringing concept cars into production. At least in the past they were. Don't know how much that translates today.

Well executed design throughout, and a successful progression from their current (much more brutal) design language. I really like that this looks muscular, aggressive and authoritative without coming across as some Dick Tracy cartoon-mobile come to life (like the current 300C and Magnum). The drivetrain nothing to sneeze at either. Very Good Work Chrysler!

I like it a lot and I think it look really good. From the front it resemble the Acura RL and the 3/4 view, and from the back it remind me of the BMW 6-Series. But who care it look really nice, and I hope they make it and retain most it concept design cue.

Great looking car, only time will tell if it looks like this when it's produced....IF it ever gets made.

to the person who said it needs a hemi: please come on over to 2009.

Why do they always incorporate those nice looking sleek mirrors in concept cars knowing darn well they are going to put big ugly ones on there during production?

I just remembered one thing that impressed me about Chryslers is how they hid the passenger airbag while other companies still had a big bump on the dash.
