Lamborghini shows record sales for 2008
While other carmakers are suffering lowered sales caused by the economic crisis, Automobili Lamborghini S.p.A., the manufacturer of Lamborghini, has experienced a global growth in sales. It recorded a 1 percent growth in 2008 compared with 2007 from 2406 in 2007 to 2430 in 2008.

Although its US markets suffered a 20.3 percent decline which is translated to 741 units sold rather than 930 units in 2007, other markets has offset the lost sales. Record shows that the highest sales were made in the Middle Eastern and Far Eastern Asian regions. For instance, in the Middle East 166 units were sold in 2008 compared to 100 in 2007. China soared from 28 to 72 in the same year.

Yea but I'm sure there were lots of discounts in 2008. I remember you couldn't get an F430 Spider under $300K but now they're everywhere in the $240 range and possibly less.

Lots of discounts, especially if you bought at Lamboghini of Orange County. I heard those guys where blowing out inventory.

Too bad I didn't get the Gallardo I have always wanted at a discount price.

Lambo belong to Audi so no wonder they sell. Meanwhile Ferrari (which belong to Fiat) CEO had to reject rumors his company barely sells anything. But no wonder if they name their last model after the U.S state that's soon going to file for bankruptcy :-P

This is because the richer has gotten richer and the middle class has gotten super middle class.

You sure about that? What about individuals living well beyond their means in this particular generation?

I'm very sure......Even Maserati sales here in Houston are up 80%....All super luxury cars are having record sales while everyone else are having record losses, so this means that the richeys are having having record levels incomes.

Note: Sales declined in U.S. but increased abroad. I think this speaks well to emerging markets expanding abroad while there is some wealth deterioration in the U.S.

I am going to have to disagree.

Most U.S. sales for "super luxury," brands have declined. It is being off set by emerging market economies in the Middle East and Asia.
