Toyota Plans To Half Domestic Production, More Plant Shutdowns Planned
Toyota Motor Corp, the world's largest car maker is planning to halve domestic production in February to April from a year earlier in response to slumping global sales, the Asahi newspaper reported on Saturday.

According to the Asahi, Toyota is planning to cut production to roughly 9,000 vehicles a day during that period, a move that may also involve periodic production halts at domestic plants.

Toyota on Friday said it would cut production at several North American plants over the next several months in a bid to halve its inventory of vehicles.

Are you not going to put flame bait like "Toyota SLASHES domestic production and expects SEVERAL and continual shutdowns due to falling demand for their product!!!"?

Apparently that only applies to domestic companies.

toyota has always been the MASTER of inventory control, one reason they've always been highly profitable. their dealers have just about ALWAYS had fewer days' worth of inventory, for more models, than nearly every other brand. what this means, is that toyota financial planners foresee continued low demand in the months ahead. it also signals a good BUYERS' MARKET, for those able to get new car loans.
