Lexus LF-A mastermind to become Toyota’s new boss in June

Toyoda is currently executive vice president at Toyota. According to Automotive News, he said he hopes to someday be seen as the...

So the "mastermind" behind the LF-A, the "supercar" that has been in perpetual development for almost half a decade will now be the new president and CEO? So at the rate the LF-A is proceeding to come to market, that means the next Camry redesign will be for model year 2018?

How old you think the guys that develop nissan GT-R or the AMG line or the BMW M? They are all no 30-something dudes.

No you clowns. This means that future Toyota products have a greater chance of being sportier. The development of the LF-A is taking so long because they want to get the car right, and it is not a necessity of the Lexus line-up, so why rush development? This is exciting news.

The Lexus LF-A is 'ghostware' and will probably never see the production line, in any incarnation.

Unless Lexus' Akio Toyoda can find a way to make manufacturing these vehicles more cost effective, and value-laden, they'll continue to lose market share as consumers become far more practical in their vehicle purchases, buying only what they can actually afford.

David999,Brembo and Anthony are absolutely right! You bashers are clowns, but even clowns are capable of becoming DEFECTORS. I have been predicting this since late last year that if Akio Toyoda becomes the top dog at Toyota Motor Corp., Toyota/Lexus will began to dominate the performance motorsport world and eliminate those problem areas we all witnessed during their rapid expansion period. So, once again let me make myself very clear. ChuckyG37 and the rest of these unappreciative, wanabe enthusiast are going to look so embarassly stupid and would look much better chewing on dry blank paper. The LF-A is the Lexus halo car and will dominate the exotic auto world, regardless of price. Ask Obama? (ha,ha smile)

Lexworld, you and your Lexus buddies were telling us the same thing when the IS-F came out. I remember myriad claims on this site about how the IS-F would DOMINATE the M3. Then it came out and while it was fast, it never trumped the competition as predicted. It became an also ran.

Could the LF-A "dominate the exotic auto world" as you say? Possibly. However, their past performance with the IS-F does not reflect this prediction. If they can't beat the M3, how are they going to beat a 430 Ferrari? Futhermore, they are going up against competition that has been doing high performance cars for years (ie Ferrari, Aston Martin, Lamborghini, etc.).

It could do better OR worse. We don't know since it is still a prototype. I believe Lexworld's statement: "...the rest of these unappreciative, wanabe enthusiast are going to look so embarassly stupid and would look much better chewing on dry blank paper. The LF-A is the Lexus halo car and will dominate the exotic auto world, regardless of price." is pretty outrageous david999.

Oh and remeber the LF-A is still the "King of the Ring" (Nurburgring). LF-A 7:24 vs Nissan GT-R 7:29 vs Corvette 7:28/30. Come on give me some more numbers, accurate or not. By the way, I thing the Formula 1 cars are way less than 7:15 on the Nurburgring...by all means correct me if I'm wrong.

Comparing production cars to prototypes is the perfect example of apples to oranges, especially when you are getting numbers from the manufacturer. When the production LF-A comes out (if it ever does), then by all means compare 'Ring lap times to the GT-R, Vette, and other competitors.

I know you are excited for the LF-A, but you have to anticipate it with some more perspective.

David999, there can't be any "truth" to accept until the production LF-A is actually released. Right now, you and your Lexus friends are making outrageous and wild predictions based on little fact. Let's discuss if the LF-A bests Ferrari's, Lambo's, and Aston Martins when it ACTUALLY comes out, not "12 to 18 months" before its anticipated release.

Who is making "outrageous and wild predictions"? Lexworld is stating fact, not fiction about what a prototype LF-A has already done. A production version will likely do better. Nobody is putting down any other marques here.

The reason that the LF-A isn't out is because he isn't the CEO, you idiot. He is the reason the LF-A exists, and the momment that he become's the CEO its probably gonna go in production.

@ChuckG37

You are totaly right, just look at the GTR the proto version did a 7:38 and the production model just managed to do a 7:29! oops! But that would mean you are a fan Boy that can't look past nissan/infiniti.

And don't think i'm hating, because nissan is my favorite brand, but you iritate me so bad with you retarded remarks!!!!!!

Thanks for debasing the conversation by calling me an idiot. Just because he is the "mastermind" of the LF-A doesn't mean Toyoda will immediately greenlight the LF-A for production upon his becoming president and CEO. Given the current economic conditions, Toyoda will have to decide if a market really exists for this car and if it is worth losing money (most likely) by producing a halo car for Lexus.

Though the IS-F still has ways to go as far as catching up to the European performance machines but give them some time and I'm sure they'll come pretty doggone close.

On a side note; Why do you end your posts' with a bunch of LMAO's at the end? You giggle like a little girl who just got her first "Circle Yes or No" puppy love note from the class dork.

But what is sad is the pure hate of different automotive brands that I see on anypost about any ride. That is were the lack of intelligence starts little one. I am a pround owner of a MB-CL, BMW-M3, and of coarse a LS460L, therefore not bias but more so "appreciative" of what is given to us people to have the opportunity to own and have fun to drive. Lemonade you are sayin' "to cut out!"...you kiddin' me?!?!? Just true words dictated via text in a forum that you kids already created/started. Test me in a real live face to face debate about "automotive" let alone intelligence and I will guarantee your "airborne lemonade" will go down crashing and send you home cryin'...until then...Gotcha-itchin'!...Where you at Chuckyg37?...Come join the fun!!!...LMAO!!!!

Man after listening to Chucky doll and HScenterconsole you'd think these guys are still driving around in TR7s Pintos and Chevetts. Man these guys just don't see what's coming down the pike do they? Don't you guys ever wonder why we keep getting all these signs....sign after sign. Look, it was the same way it happen back in the late 80s/early 90s with the all-trac celica,MR-2 Turbo and Supra Turbo. Those cars at that time had a wave of hints before they surfaced and it was sure-nuf believed after they hit the streets and dominated the motorsports world. Again, I say to you bashers, haters, naysayers, clowns, chucky dolls and hscenterconsoles history is repeating itself right before your eyes because some things are meant to be. It just happen to be Toyota Motor Corps finest hour and the only one who will stop them is them. At this point I'm startin to see how Mr. Akio Toyoda could benefit from listening in on the hater comments and give the Toy/Lex boys their hay day..."Man that would rock Chuckys world"

I'm not saying this car will be terrible or not be fast. All that I'm saying is that until the production version is released, we should take everything with a grain of salt and not jump to conclusions lexworld. That isn't an outrageous stance.

ChuckyDoll: "Why would you switch over from Ferrari, Aston, Lamborghini, Porsche etc. to a "Lexus LF-A"?" BECAUSE unlike you, people who can afford those cars do not have them as their ONLY ride. they may well be interested in ADDING an LF-A to the stable. whether or not it proves superior to their current supercars, it will be new, fresh, and DIFFERENT from everything else in the field. and they may just want to be 'first on the block' to get one.
