GM Postpones Cadillac CTS Coupe until Summer, 2010

The launch of the Cadillac CTS Coupe, which was supposed to be shown at last year's LA Auto Show, has been pushed back to the summer of 2010. Cadillac's director of communications cited "changes to the overall portfolio" as the reason, which is understandable, but doesn't make us any less happy about having to wait. The CTS Wagon is still on schedule for this spring, as is the SRX for this summer. When the CTS Coupe does arrive, it could either be a 2010 or 2011 model.

That's unfortunate. Period.

SMH. I would rather wait for the disappointing new SRX instead of waiting for the CTS coupe. Oh well, I hope this is just a rumor and if its not, I guess it gives me more time to save a few more grand for my down payment...

There is far more profit to be made in the SRX, that is why it will be released sooner and it makes sense. Love the coupe, but how often will most use it compared to the SRX. 20k CTS Coupes, 50k vs. 50k SRX. No brain trust needed there.

The coupe will sell better if it goes on sale at the beginning of Summer rather than the end of Winter. Simple logic there folks. That is when the coupe should have been slated to intro from the beginning.

It will be illegal to have an engine over 1 liter pretty soon, so the sooner they bring the CTS coupe out, the better.

Yes...very unfortunate. This is the first time I ever saw this car. I think cadillac should move forward with this production. Cut production on those gas guzzling Escalades and produce more of the CTS Coupes!

its the damn beltline!!! I hate how nowadays, many OEMs (lots of GMs) have this ridiculously high belt line (CTS coupe, camaro--even though I want one). It looks bad and short guys like me cant see well (feel like were in a damn bathtub). Still, it IS a nice looking ride, not as nice as the sedan but it'd still be cool to have!
