Honda's new crossover to compete with Toyota Venza

Honda's new crossover to compete with Toyota Venza
pies have once again caught the upcoming all-new Honda Accord CUV undergoing testing. At first glance the car may look like the European Honda Accord Tourer (pictured above), but upon closer inspection the prototype seems to sit a little higher than the Accord Tourer.

The Honda Accord CUV will be based on the Accord chassis and is expected to enter production in the 4th quarter of 2009 at Honda’s Marysville or East Liberty factory. The production version of the car will fit between...

Ok... In every other market on earth this is simply a (JDM/Euro) Accord Wagon, but for the U.S. they're all of a sudden calling it a crossover? Utter Nonsense!

The picture in the article is the Euro Accord Wagon which is bascially a TSX and not the CUV that they mention.

It's really surprising how little people know on this sight...well, maybe not that surprising....yes, in deed this is just a Euro Accord Tourer pictured here on this page - whoever posted this was lazy and did not do a search for the spy pics of this vehicle in a mule disguised with a US Accord front end attached to a extended Euro Accord Tourer back end...

No way is that a station wagon!!!!! It's a CUV,,,,, a Crossover!!!!
Sure, it looks like a station wagon, and has everything you would expect in a station wagon, but the Honda Marketing Dept has assured me that it is not a station wagon...

sure. exactly why i would AVOID cheaply built, fragile VWs. i'd choose a 10-yr old honda over a 5-yr old VW any day.

This is yet another disappointment from Honda. Such lackluster designs from Honda to Acura. What happened to leading designs and technology (S2000, CRX, Legend, NSX)? They are way too conservative. I would buy a Venza over this pile in a heart beat. Toyota typically produces cars that are far less than inspiring, but the Venza is pretty sweet looking (not so much from the front, mostly from side and rear).

it's actually the europeans who are two steps behind, cranking out SUVs of all sizes they THINK they can flog to americans. this honda, like the toyota venza and ford flex, ARE the latest thing: tall wagons. as efficient and good handling as cars, with the high views and interior space of suvs and trucks. (europeans like their wagons low, for use at speed; americans don't know how to drive fast.)

Kay, Honda needs to step up their game... cause IMHO Hyundai's are surpassing them in almost every way. That's something that should NEVER happen. I hope this one turns out better looking than all of the others. I can't take seeing another pimped up station wagon riding on 20's.

until recently, i used to never understand all this prejudice against station wagons. people go for vans, SUVs, and trucks mainly for the HIGH RIDING POSITION and better view over traffic; and only secondarily for whatever other features offered. the marketing types of all brands have to come up with alternate names, 'cuz calling something a 'station wagon' is the kiss of death in america today.

Honda always seems to get board approval for ugly vehicles. It is like they don't have any taste? It sort of reminds me of GM not that long ago. Honda engineering cannot be matched though. I am certain that will always be their selling point, but style shouldn't be sacrificed and perhaps focus groups should be used, so the deciders can get feedback before they approve these homely designs?
