Infiniti wants new entry-level luxury sedan and crossover model

Early last year Nissan product boss Carlos Tavares revealed that he would like to see Infiniti’s lineup expand to “10 or so” nameplates in the next couple of years, and soon after this speculation about a new Q flagship sedan and super-sports car based on the Nissan GT-R platform quickly emerged.

The word on the street however is that Infiniti’s future lineup will include new versions of the M sedan, QX SUV, and a petrol-electric hybrid model.

You could see how many people care about Infiniti by the number of posts since yesterday.

They should concentrate on a flagship vehicle rather than another entry level. Revise the Q and make it a true contender against the LS.

The Q has always been a failure from the start. Infiniti should stick with what they know how to do best, which is basically to keep making derivatives of the G series, and expanding the M line. Don't play where the big boys
do because they will get sand kicked in their face.

Now I know you know squat about cars. When the LS came out in 1989, it was hailed as a great car by everybody. So to answer your question, yes Lexus did get it right the first time.

and have been improving it even more since its intro. I do not despise Infiniti in any way, but please stop with the Q talk. That car has failed every step of the way.

The G is good entry level car, if you where not forced to buy the fully loaded high output V6 version only. They have to offer a toned down version of the 3.5L, more fuel efficient, in a less loaded package and price it about the same as a IS250. This would increase sales volume.

The G37 is already not that far off in price from the is250, but it is quite a bit bigger and obviously alot more powerful. I agree Infiniti should come out with a turbo 4 or small 6 in the G series it would be a great car. if they came out with a smaller car it would then compete directly with the size of the IS and probably be significanly less expensive. All Infiniti has to do is get a better marketing firm and show off the cars not some artsy crap that never shows what the cars can do or the inovative features they come up with.

Can somebody say G18 or Q25. Pretty soon you'll see a stretched version of the Quest with a "road to nowhere" badge on the front... And that will be their "Flagship". Nissan should just roll that baby back into the fold and call it a day, the brand is the laughing stock of the auto industry. Just look at their "autospies" spokesman ChuckG37, you would have thought someone at Nissan (infiniti) would have paid chucky twice what he paid for that turd just to shut him up.

Seems like a good idea. I hope that they still plan to come out with an Infiniti version of the 370Z, as Infiniti needs a sports car 2 seater!!
