2010 Lexus RX350 and 450h review
Launching a new vehicle - especially a luxury vehicle - is a difficult thing to do at any time.

Doing it during the worst economic downturn of the past several decades is all the more challenging. And when that ill-timed luxury vehicle happens to be a de facto member of the much-hyped but ultimately smaller-than-expected crossover segment, things are downright tough.

"Professional women" will eat this thing up, but I still think it is an odd looking car.

From that angle in the above picture, it reminds me of the Ford Edge a little bit.

The new RX will again be a success for Lexus. The technology and quality of this vehicle is light years ahead of what you get with the competition. As for the looks, still a love it or hate it design, but people must still like it because it is a top seller.

A nice vehicle, nothing mind-blowing.

The only people that will have something to bitch about here are those that live in the dreamworld that every car should look and drive like a Ferrari, and of course the usual autospies' anti-lexus/german-only/internet-bully fanboys.

Side note: the new layout of autospies.com quite simply sucks from a user standpoint. Stories seem harder to locate once they drift off the main page, and comments to other posters' comments aren't logically placed/displayed.

Most manufacturers have 1 or 2 vehicles that carry the brand; Audi A4, BMW 3-series, Mercedes C-Class, etc.
P.S. The EX is an Infiniti car you dope.

i have seen it in person and it looked very nice to me both inside and out. I like the hybrid verion's front bumper design more than regular one.

Every new Lexus has always been attacked for "ugly" design on this website. The IS, GS, LS, LX, LF-A etc. Every single one of them. The tactic has lost credibility honestly. Every Lexus is not ugly. It never makes any real difference to the people actually buying them though.

Lexus has a few ugly cars (LX, GX, RX, ES mainly) but the people who buy them generally don't care much about style. Nor do they have much knowledge about what makes great car design, too.

Like you are an expert on what makes a great car design.
I like Mercedes vehicles, but they made some truely ugly cars and SUVs; R-class, G-Class, B-class, C-class (until last year), etc.

TRUTHPURSUIT: Last time I checked, nine year old prepubescent children were not eligible to obtain a legal driver's licenses. "It doesn't matter #1 IS #1 the people who buy them are wealthy and smart and already went through pubity." <---- Clearly anyone who is currently and/or has previously experienced PUBERTY at least once in their lifespan KNOWS how to refrain from often committing grammatical errors. HEY TRUTHPURSUIT JUST IN CASE YOU DIDN'T KNOW: "...SUBARU buyers tend to be over educated; they spend less on cars than they could afford and they hang on to them forever. "They pay cash, and then you never see them again," says Tim Mahoney, Subaru of America's chief marketing officer..." [link to article] http://www.time.com/time/business/article/0,8599,1871101,00.html?imw=Y IMO I'd rather sign a 72 month lease on a Kia Rondo than ever be caught dead within six feet of a Lexus Egg-On-Wheels (IS).

this is a chick car and even if they built a rx-f model nobody will take it seriously because the true power horses in any performance suv are the the porsche cayenne, x5 4.8, ml63, g55 amg, and range rover. no lexus will ever have the rough edge it wants to have cuz its justa bunch of old folks who drive expensive toyoda's... i didnt say over priced toyoda's though :)

Lexus is being very conservative with the new RX design. The waterfall grill looks out of place and is the weakest part of the new design. The review was too nitpicky about the materials inside the RX. I find Lexus leather and plastics pretty comparable to the German vehicles at similar price points. I don't think it's fair to compare a $100K S-Class interior materials to a $50K Lexus RX. In the end, Lexus will still sell a ton of these to upper middle class soccer moms.

I refrain from respecting those who cannot spell my name correctly. Of course Lexus outsold Subaru in 2008, however Lexus suffered a -21% decrease in sales while Subaru sales increased by 0.3%. Fuji Heavy Industries is a smaller corporation than Toyota Mo Co., thus explaining the substantial difference in sales numbers; however with the recent 35% investment in Fuji Heavy Industries by Toyota Mo Co. there may be a substantial rise in sales throughout the next few years. ...and just in case you didn't know TRUTHPURSUIT; the number of units sold usually has no relevance of the vehicle(s) superiority. General Motors outsold Toyota for many years with products which obtained relatively poor build quality. The numbers may be there to prove that Lexus sold more vehicles than Subaru in 2008; vehicles sold in substantially lower quantities tend to obtain higher build quality. Try driving an IS350 in snow, then drive a Subaru Legacy 3.0 in snow - let me know which one you crash first. ;] OH YEAH: "You think i give a rats ass what you think, punk i don't." If you didn't care what I had to say, then you wouldn't have made that comment in the first place. In my own humble opinion, I highly doubt you even own a Lexus... or a car at all.

Was that supposed to be an insult? Considering you state all Lexus owners portray an enhanced level of intellect; you really and truly mustn't own a Lexus.
