I have always been a Chrysler fan, but I am slowly getting over it. I have owned 5 Jeeps and a new Chrysler 300 in the past. I hate to see the company go this way.

To answer your question, they were before the Diamler days. Chrysler was working on the next gen 4cyl and the pheonix V6 [World Engines] and also the EV1. Diamler was the one in control that calcelled these and other neet things to inject there items hence the LX platform. Deiter loved the HEMI and focused on that. All was fine untill Gas went bolistic. Diamler drained Chryslers 23 billion in cash back then to improve there quality of Mercedes and when they were done squeezing Chrysler they sold them. Chrysler has reshelved these programs but in the meantime they need something on the dealer lot to satisfy the mpg issues.
