Spy Shots: Chevrolet Camaro Convertible spotted in the outback
Although the Chevrolet Camaro Convertible won’t be dropping its top anytime soon in the U.S., the convertible American muscle car was spotted in Australia just last week. Seeing the Chevrolet Camaro isn’t exactly a rare thing in Melbourne since GM’s Holden is doing all the majority of development work on the U.S. muscle car. Test mules are usually spotted all over town.

However, it was this Camaro Convertible which attracted a huge a crowd while it was undergoing testing last week - and that’s probably because GM has delayed any development on the right-hand-drive Camaros.

The LF-A won't reach production. The production Volt was shown what a year ago. The Camaro I am also getting tired of hearing about, even though I am a big domestic guy and huge 3rd gen Camaro nut.

Obviously you don't know what you are talking about. The Volt concept was a PURE concept. The public liked the idea so much that Gm decided to produce it. The design was pretty much re-done 100% from the concept to production. Once the exterior/interior production design was done it was shown off (to see how the public reacts). The car is being designed and engineered on the fly and will be ready for production on the ORIGINAL timetable as it was stated when it was announced for production.

Also the Oshwa plant conversion is nearing completion, at which time production can being. Without having the plant to make the car GM couldn't possibly be ready, so obviously you are talking out of your butt.

So you are saying that GM would rather please foreign people than Americans? The exact reason why GM is on the tax money spree.....err I mean life support. Bush has the same mind set as well putting America 14trillion dollars into debt.

It is in Australia because: It is pretty much a Holden. Holden's home market is in Austraila.

I am over the camaro. We have seen this dam thing for years now. If they had been ready the day that the Transformers Movie was released they would have had a line at the dealers. Now I feel like we are purchasing a 3 year old model when it comes out. I am also not ahuge fan of the interior. No Nav option! Have you seen the new mustang? I really like it. Hot rod pony car with awesome tech inside as well with the new Navigation and Sync system. DUAL climate control! Suck on it GM Ford just beat you to the punch again.

How long can GM drag this thing out? There have been thousands of people, with money in hand, ready and willing to get their Camaro ordered but they still can't. Why didn't they bring out the hardtop and then roll out the convertible a year or two later? GM is so ignorant.
