GM Considering 4-Door Cadillac Converj for 2013
The Cadillac Converj was a particularly beautiful concept car revealed by GM at the Detroit Auto Show. The vehicle is a 2 door 4 seater luxury model that uses the Voltec range-extended electric drivetrain with some tweaks to improve driving performance.
It also has a remarkable futuristic interior involving a massive OLED touch screen center stack/console interface, and featuring widescreen screen video camera displays instead of side view mirrors

Let's see how close to the concept they can keep the production car, it's hot!

Historically, coupés that have been made "practical" with 3rd or even 4th doors have not lived up to expectation either. Remember the Saturn Ion and the Mazda RX8? Both not bad looking and decently priced, but people just haven't agreed that it's what they want. Buyers tend to go more for a sedan that looks like a coupé than a coupé that functions as a sedan. Just my 0.02...

Good point, that's why there is Passat CC and not some Scirocco 4d. A four door coupe with large interior (for four), big boot and stunning looks is in my opinion a perfect car. Pretty and (enough) practical. Ion looked crap and RX8 was technically wrong with its rotary engine no one wanted. And it was still cramped inside. Styling has become more relevant than it was at any time in automotive history so I believe the time for such cars has just come. BTW, for 2013? WTF? Why not for 2056?

it wont be a new car from cadillac . It would just be the new CTS for 2013.

I'm thinking on the lines of the Passat CC or MB CLS using the same platform as the CTS. Smart move with little invested in platform development. Or using the Volt extended platform to share cost is another option. The Volt will not make GM money on the onset, but expanding this platform and tech around to Vauxhall, Holden and using it on the SRX hybrid would help.

Exactly! Just as the design of the Converj is really just a showing of the near-production shape of the CTS-Coupe.

Uhhh...why would they show us a hint of the CTS coupe when they've already shown the actual CTS coupe? Makes no sense DaHarder.
And they're not going to replace the CTS already. As stated in other articles, this would be cadillac's version of the Volt, like the HS is Lexus' version of the Prius.
