Time Magazines' Audi A6 Superbowl Review

Time Magazines' Audi A6 Superbowl Review
Action star Jason Statham jumps forward in time in a car chase that takes him from one decade's getaway vehicle to another. (How do you shoot this commercial and not use Back to the Future's DeLorean?) Some funny period touches, and amid most commercials' emotional appeals and the feeling-the-economy zeitgeist, it's nice to see a spot that just says, This car is fast as hell.

The whole thing rang hollow for me. Out of all the cars available, is an Audi A6 really anyone's first choice for a getaway car? I think not.

Putting it another way, they're not selling the A6 to potential bank robbers either.

yeah but if you read one line at a time like you were taught in 2nd or 12th grade in your case I didnt say that the ES300 competed with anything I was commenting on the commercial. StarSearch..........If you slow down and read before you comment you will get your point across in a more understandable manner......

I dont know about you but it looks like the ES compares up to the A6 pretty good to me.

http://www.edmunds.com/apps/nvc/edmunds/VehicleComparison?styleid=101038874&styleid=101134490&styleid=101077190&maxvehicles=5&refid=&op=3&tab=specs

so why wouldnt the ES compare to the A6 again???????????????? The A6 is nothing but a Passat with an Audi badge and the ES is a Camry with a Lexus badge other than the 4WD I think they compare up quite well

Your comment may have had some credibility had your avatar and user name not given away your allegiance.

Keep on slagging, it's worked for Audi so far....

Yikes, a lot of criticism there. Just so you know, so you don't sound silly (like you do now), Time magazine picks a Person of the year by picking the most INFLUENTIAL person/group of people of that year. From TIME "describes as who they believed had a stronger influence on history." And your FDR comment.....he is consistently ranked by over 10 polls of experts to be one of the top 3 best presidents of all time. Please just stop posting misinformation on this forum.

like I said: gay gay gay. Audi is starting to make some decent cars now, that is all you need to do, no need for insults. And like I said a 1990's GS would beat up the Audi 100 or A6 easily. 1990's GS was the fastest in its class. But 'course Audi chooses the ES to pick on. Can't hang with the big boys?

and what progress are they talking about? aluminum frame? Big whoop!

Stop taking those hallucigenics. Nice attempt at comedy though. The A6 is form thrashes the GS in any form. Would you like an RS6 with that GS?

there was no RS6 in 1990's. Lexus GS400 was the fastest production sedan in the world during the 1990's with a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds. It could smoke any Audi incuding the fastest during that decade: S8

I wasn't impressed. The R8 commercial last year was a million times better.

They should of used new S4, S5, S8 or TT-S. Those cars are exciting, the A6 just plain isn't.

the S5 would of been a better choice

I think Audi should have chosen a different model, however this was also a good opportunity to promote their new supercharged engine in the A6. And if people are talking about it, then I think it was fairly successful.

Go Audi
