Teen Rock Star Miley Cyrus Trades In Her Porsche Cayenne For This?

Teen Rock Star Miley Cyrus Trades In Her Porsche Cayenne For This?
Miley Cyrus says her mom's black Porsche -- which she inherited around her 16th birthday -- was driving her crazy.

So she ditched it for a new set of wheels.

"I didn't like it 'cause it was bad for the environment, and it was too big," she says in a new video on her Web site. "My dad surprised me last night with a black Prius."

How does she know the cayenne is bad for the environment? just because of gas mileage? Obviously the prius has lower emissions and gets ebtter mileage, but those batteries arent recyclable and the amount of money they waste shipping all of the parts around the world for final assembly is ridiculous.
I would think her life is worth more than a prius. I would think a cayenne is more safe than a prius.

Man, the hostility from Chuck! Anyway, yes this is all a PR stunt most likely but its still for the better. I do believe a Porsche SUV is too much car for one little 16 year old girl, even if they can afford it.

She missed an amazing opportunity.

Her manager should have cut a deal with Toyota to be the first to get the NEW Prius.

And she is not the first celeb to do this.

Met the jazz artist Dave Koz at LAX a few months ago and he told me he canceled a Maserati Quattroporte he had on order and bought a Prius and couldn't be happier.

To each his own.

VW Touareg.... erm, I mean Pork Cayenne combined observed MPG is 13-17. Prius MPG is 43-47. Any questions? By the way, she won't be that less protected in this lightweight fuel sipper. While the average value of IIHS personal injury protection rating for all cars is 100, the VW Touareg/Pork Cayenne get 59 while the Prius is rated at 78. It's not bad for a car so much smaller and lighter. Obviously in a high speed head-on collision of these two cars Prius wouldn't stand a chance, but it compensates by encouraging a defensive, careful driving on their owners which simply helps to avoid accidents, hence such good result. Exactly the opposite happens if you drive a fugly Cayenne (outcome of my dog pooping looks better), designed mostly for short-cocked men who feel the desperate need of compensating on the road. Good choice then, Miley, especially if this is the new, third generation SuperPrius. ||| Sources: http://www.iihs.org/research/hldi/composite_cls.aspx?y=2005-2007&cls=8&sz=4&sort=pip ||| http://www.iihs.org/research/hldi/composite_cls.aspx?y=2005-2007&cls=2&sz=2&sort=pip

What is going on right now with the Obama admin is a JOKE. A tax cheat in charge of the IRS and a tax cheat up for HHS secretary (before he withdrew). Al Capone went to prison for doing less than either Geithner or Daschel. Change we can believe in! Change is coming! Hope! What a joke....

The switch from a Cayenne to a Prius is a commendable first step if she is genuinely trying to protect the environment or conserve enrgy. But if she's not willing to stop using limousines and private jets, which damage the environment much more than her old Cayenne could, her new Prius is just another empty PR gesture by another airheaded Hollywood celebrity.

Even IF it is merely a publicity stunt, just think of the signal it could send. Granted a Cayenne is a much more elegant vehicle, but the Prius (and other hybrids) seem to be the wave of the future.

I hope that we can continue to have the choice to buy them, which means we'll still have the option of buying gas operated vehicles too. There is room for them all out there...even the behemoth SUV's that hide my Yaris in parking lots.

I am very disapointed in her I thought a F-150 and a lift kit and some glasspacks would be the next choice LOL.
