Good job BMW..Looks like they had a relatively good January. It will be very interesting to see how this year ends up in terms of car sales. If things don't improve a number of manufacturers are likely to end 2009 down 35% to over 50% from 2007; a scary prospect

Good month??? Best result of the premium brands??

Look closer. Last January BMW's sales were in the tank. That's why selling a paltry 12,232 vehicles seems like a small percentage drop. This was a terrible month for BMW. A couple years ago, BMW could count on the 3 series alone selling this many cars. These percentage gains and drops are so misleading sometimes.

I thought it would be much worst. Most of the other car makers are falling 20% to 35%. That's not to bad when it is compared to other premium makers

note that despite the drops in new car sales, that of PRE-owned (aka USED) beemers exploded by nearly 37%.
||| guess most poseurs who MUST flaunt a beany propeller have to settle for used, rather than get a cheap lease on a new bmw.

Pretty OK.

The brand sales are shocking. BMW used to sell over 20K cars a month easily. This isn't much more than Audi in a good month. Is January just a poor time for BMW?
