Production of Infiniti QX56, Nissan Armada and Quest on hold in the U.S. due to economic problems
The economic problems facing the auto industry has hit large SUVs and minivans the hardest. A lineup of three models that have been prioritized for production standstill by 2010 include the Infiniti QX56, Nissan Armada and Nissan Quest. These cars are being manufactured currently at the Canton, Mississippi car factory.

Although the future of the Armada is uncertain at this point in time, the future versions of the QX56 and Quest will be produced in Japan. The absence of the Armada from the list of ‘future production’ implies that it has finally met its end in this generation. The reason for this, of course, is its significant fall in sales of 50.4 percent last year in contrast to 2007.

honestly this isnt really news, nor based on financial problems the QX was only slated for a half year production anyway as far as I've heard.

They should have dumped these pigs a long time ago.

No.

And why not? It's slow, guzzles gas like there is no tomorrow and is not particularly selling well either.

You know that's not true. It's not slow, and for a large
SUV that compares to the Range Rover, it does pretty well mileage wise. It also outsells the Range Rover in North America by a wide margin.

And also the Lexus LX 570 is the most reliable SUV in the world.

***And also the Lexus LX 570 is the most reliable SUV in the world.*** Says who? Heck, the Lada Niva is probably the most reliable SUV in the world. Stone Age technology doesn't break that easily.

The most reliable SUV? Easily Russian. The LX570 is not even close.

I am sad to see them go, I love my 2006 Armada 4x4 and I was planning on upgrading around 2010 or 2011 model year to either another Armada or a QX. I have never owned a more useful vehicle, it looks unique in a good way, it's very comfortable on long trips and I can have yet to find anything that I cannot tow. The gas mileage ain't great, but you've got to pay to play. Oh and it's far from slow in stock form, and with my Bullydog well, let's just say don't mess around and see the taillights of a truck that weighs over 2.5 tons.........

stone, it doesnt matter. Once the hitler youth... i mean california eco-whackos get their legislation passed, you won't be allowed to buy an SUV. Enjoy it while you have it Komrade, I'll be seeing you at the collective farm soon!!

Those who want a flashy "bling bling" SUV don't want this QX56. For the price you pay you get Nissan badge quality which includes cheap plastics and poor fit & finish.

The Cadillac Escalade is still king of bling.

I will never forget my first sighting of a Nissan Armada in early 2006.

It was a "copper" colored one, crossing a roundabout underneath a "flyover" in Lagos - Nigeria. Truly awesome-looking vehicle!

Nissan/Lexus must continue with newer derivatives.

They were very ugly, very poorly built and handled poorly too and drove poorly. Overall a poor effort outside the strong engines and towing capcity.

The LX is not in its class, it costs 25k more
