Nissan GT-R still quick after neutered launch control update

Nissan recently started rolling out an update to all GT-Rs in inventory to modify the car’s launch control programming in order to reduce stresses to the drivetrain. One owner has already updated his bone stock car and quickly went out to the drag strip running an astounding 11.34 @ 120.85 MPH at No Problem Raceway in Belle Rose, Louisiana. With the updated launch control programming his GT-R was still able to blast off the line with a 1.69 60' time.

Right Crappy, we all agree that it's a POS, that's the general consensus of most enthusiasts. You hit it spot on. How you could think otherwise is impossible seeing that most rational and sane people actually know that it's a great car.

Just because it's not an exotic like a Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin or Zonda doesn't mean it's not a great car. It's a very good Japanese sports car my friend.

Hey Agent,

I know this is a long shot but were you by any chance at the Pacific Northwest-Lower Mainland car meet with Revscene several weeks ago? I swear I saw a person who looked identical to you and he was sitting in a black R8 fiddling with something. If it's you by the way your car is stunning. I took a rip up to Canada with my friends. I finally took my GTR for a long haul and it was pretty nice. My old lady and her friends took my 997. Anyways again, nice ride!.

Yes it was me. Wow someone on AutoSpies saw me. You should have came over and said hi. It's cool you came up to the lower mainland in BC. Cheers.

I don't care if this car does 0 to 60 in one 1 second.

It's still a dud in the looks department :-(

The funny thing is, most people have never even seen this vehicle in real life, yet love to bash. Personally, I love the looks and it's nice to see something new, as opposed to the same beetle (Porsche) for decades.

Buy a Nissan Mirca if you want (In a faggots voice) "pretty car". This car is more aerodynamic than a Corvette. Technology > Looks.

I've seen a few in person. Looks are ok. Doesn't look like an $80 grand car though.

Awesome to see that the beast still reigns, even after the launch control removal!! Good job Nissan. Amazing car!!

The didn't remove the launch control. They just modified it by lowering the RPM launch and keeping traction control on to filter out the torque a little bit.

Correction, they highered the RPM launch with VDC on but lowered it with VDC off.
