Diesel-powered Honda Accord Type S coming to Geneva

Diesel-powered Honda Accord Type S coming to Geneva
This coming March, at the Geneva Motor Show, there will be an unveiling of a more potent and a more sporty Accord Type S, a version of Honda’s D-sector model that comes with the famous 2.2-liter i-DTEC diesel powerplant.

Unlike the regular Honda Accord, the powerplant of the Type S comes with a modified turbocharger, cylinder head and a larger intercooler to generate 180PS at 4000 rpm, about 30PS over the regular model at the same engine speed.Likewise, torque has also increased from the standard’s 350 Nm to 380 Nm at 2000rpm. Honda is expecting positive reception of this diesel-powered Accord to the extent that it would provide attraction to other Accord variants in the range.

Is this car suppose to compete with the 330TDI in the US? Nice that it has a manual option.
