Upcoming Audi R1 and Vw BlueSport to share the same platform
Vw BlueSport ConceptAfter showcasing at the NAIAS, the BlueSport Concept of VW went directly to the press attention. The concept is a global car, similar to the price of a Mazda MX-5 Miata and essential volume, and is not just for one brand. Reliable information has been received that the Audi version has already been completed. It is branded the R1.

The designers of the BlueSport had lots of leeway since this model, unlike other models, does not have a predecessor upon which to base the current design. The concept car has been proportionately worked out and could most likely end up the same way in its production version just like the TT.

So you've never heard about the Audi A3? It's perfectly the same as the Golf, only the price for equal versions with equal engines and same options is 30% higher. Game is on again now, only in small roadsters category. BTW, where are all those spammers shouting about how much the Lexus ES is the Camry (only with much more options actually justifying price hike and badge swap)?

TheSailor, when you buy an ES, you get a Camry with lots of options coming as standard, a higher price and a better badge. That's what's called upmarket. When you buy an A3, you get a Golf with... a higher price (+30%) and a better badge. Can you spot the difference? This is what distinguish "upmarket" from "tarting up". Simply check the specs.

Oh how the tables have turned. Now it's the Germans trying to break into the market of the Japanese car that has heritage.

Bluesport certainly looks nicer than the MX5. Let's hope it stays this way.
