USA Today Declares The Ford Fusion Is The Best Gas Hybrid Yet
OK, let's just get it out there: The 2010 Ford Fusion hybrid is the best gasoline-electric hybrid yet.

What makes it best is a top-drawer blend of an already very good midsize sedan with the industry's smoothest, best-integrated gas-electric power system. It's so well-done that you have to look to the $107,000 Lexus LS 600h hybrid to come close.

Fusion's $28,000 starting price is more or less in reach, the driving feel is good, and the interior has a premium look and feel.

Don't forget to check out our many galleries of photos, the recently added Volvo XC60 and Porsche Museum are must sees if you haven't checked them out already.

This is very good to know someone is out to play hardball, this should shake up Toyota a little more and get them to push the envelope a little more harder. And to compare this to a Lexus LS600hl, is foolish. Remember this is mated to a 4cly not a V8 which is expressed more in the performance factor with less emissions. People at this level should not complain about gas anyways. But on another note congrats to Ford Fusion on thier achievement!! WELL EXECUTED!!!

No surprise here. This car will be doing amazing things for Ford.

If I remember correctly Ford is doing worse than Mazda and Mazda are using conventional gas powered engines in the US.

Wow! How coincidental... Because the Ford Fusion IS the best gas/hybrid yet.

Great Job Ford!

Wow Crappy, all I can do is just shake my head at you in disbelief. You really don't think that I hope that this is a turn around for Ford? Your problem is that you are partisan to the extreme. Unfortunately this develops into an "us vs. them" way of looking at the world. I feel sorry for you that have this point of view, such a pity. At least I can be a bigger person and be more unbiased in my views. I can't say the same for you unfortunately.

Congrats Ford! I just saw where Car and Drivers comparison test choose Fusion as its number one pick. The Ford beat the 2nd place Camry buy 20 points. Ford at two bucks a share is looking pretty good.

"The integration of gas and electric modes is better than a Lexus LS600h" ||| I know it's pleasant to promote domestic products but being ridiculous is not really a way to go. ||| Still, I like the Fusion, it appears to be more desirable than Camry hybrid.

So I guess it's the best hybrid that gets 27.2 mpg. They've got that corner of the market covered. I love how the tester talks about how "Best guess: Moderate, but not mileage-obsessed, drivers could get 35 mpg or so" when they couldn't get close to that. Driven normally by someone who loves the car it gets 27.2 mpg. Enjoy.

And the Fusion is built in Mexico.
