BMW to offer performance upgrade for 135i and 335i models
Interesting news for the owners of 135i and 335i models, BMW will offer a performance upgrade for the N54 twin-turbo engine. The press release was issued for the German market, but we expect similar news for the U.S. market as well.

The N54 engine will receive 20 extra ponies, to a total of 326. BMW performance power kit consists of software and hardware components, so we should expect a high performance exhaust as well as technologies that will help the air circulation. Water cooling is part of the kit as well.

20 extra ponies + engine with overheating problems + 15k service interval = Chernobyl meltdown

they better have those oil coolers ready :)

i drive a 335i. not a single problem. it's even recommended by the eggheads at consumer reports. get a clue guy.

Doesn't the Dinan flash upgrade already boosts the 335i's hp to 400hp and 400 lbs of torque? This BMW's upgrade seems redundant.

This is for future planning. If BMW did their best with this upgrade, there will not be anymore room for improving the power output for the next model and so on.

you're right, scion and BMW are often crossed-shopped. especially since those scions are renowned for their superior handling and performance.

BMW cannot be cross shopped with anything, they are like the ultimate cars in the whole world! Nothing compares to BMW, even if there are cars that may be better. BMW will always be the best because they are simply fabulous, just like my life and me! You may call me a snob, but that's just who I am, no excuses.

You do know that the Scion TRD option is purely cosmetic with ZERO boost to horsepower.

Audi is putting the twin turbo V6's in the S5 and S4 which will make them lighter and gives them more torque BMW can't let the performance margin get too too close

actually no, they aren't. The new S4 has a supercharged V6, not a twin turbo. The S5 currently has a V8. It may eventually get the supercharged V6 from the new S4, but doesn't have it now, and if and when it does get it, it still won't have a turbo, let alone two of them.

If you're going to talk $hit, at least be accurate.

Cocks driving BMW 335i became angry because cocks driving Audi's new posh S4 were constantly kicking their butts at the lights and nothing else matters. So they cried for help and now we have the kit.

hate to break it to you, but while the S4 is beautiful, the 335i out handles, out corners and out accelerates the S4

The Audi S4 still kicks the BMW 335i all day long.

I hope everyone saw the Auto Motor Und Sport and Autozeitung tests where the Audi S4 crushed the BMW 335i in acceleration tests, outhandled the BMW 335i and, most importantly, won the comparison test overall versus the BMW 335i.

Bad news for BMW 335i coupe lovers: Audi has confirmed the Audi S5 is getting the supercharged V6. Not only will the car be lighter (just like the B8 S4), but it will also be faster, and more fuel efficient.

BMW had no choice but to match Audi's superior performance thanks to the greater torque and horsepower numbers from Audi's supercharged V6 engines when compared to BMW's twin-turbo inline 6.

As for now, both 7-speed S-Tronic S4 and 6-speed manual S4 proved to be significantly less fuel efficient than 6-speed automatic 335xi and 6-speed manual 335i, respectively.

Stop pooping. Audi had a lot of time to push the numbers a tiny little bit and their power curve is not all that superior when compared to the one from the bimmer, look:

Audi S4: 440/2900-5300 Nm @ rpm
BMW 335i: 400/1300-5000 Nm @ rpm

So in the low-rev section BMW may win. Audi's better performance comes mostly from having one gear more.

But no matter, cocks driving BMW 335i forced Bangle's boyfriend to release a performance kitty, so the tables are about to be turned.

20HP? Right now for $600 and about 20 minutes of install time you can get about 100HP (80HP at the wheels) with a JB3 or Vishnu PROcede (the latter is a little more expensive). There are probably 1500-2500 N54 engined cars out there right now running these tunes with no problems.

20HP lol.

yeah, but those 20hp are backed by BMW, whereas the 100hp is backed by no-one. If you somehow blew your engine with the BMX performance kit, they will fix it at no charge. Not so for the JB3 or Vishnu PROcede. (and you would be much more likely to break something with those)

Is this upgrade Liberal-approved? Somebody should call Pelosi and ask if it is OK.

JRobUSC didn't realize it was that serious. I wasn't talking shit I was just trying to figure where they were coming from with the upgrade you need to find a girl dude you taking this a little too seriously.
