As General Motors continues to survive on taxpayer’s bailout money, it must be very careful on how and where it spends cash. That includes how the automaker spends money on future products already in the pipeline. According to Motor Trend, the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 is already done; however, GM has put the Z/28 on hold since it ran out of money to launch the car.

GM could release it without an expensive launch. The die-hards would buy it, the general public would learn about it more slowly (possibly preventing a firestorm of criticism), and GM could start making money on its investment.

Basically, it's a car that many people are interested in buying, and GM doesn't want to release it. Stupid mistake, common to Detroit, and much of the reason the Big Three are going under.

I just hope GM makes the interior just as nice as the exterior or what the hell is the point! The previous model Camaro's interior was laughable. I believe GM has learned its lessons and not assume the American car buyer will buy it just because it is Made by USA! (Most likely not built 'in' USA).

I am surprised the Z/28 will ahve this much power and not the SS model unless GM is going to go ZR1 for SS which will be a mistake. Not sure if article is entirely accurate. Especially since previous Z/28's sold for ~$28K in the last model. If this is true then what will it sell for??? Bound to be instant classic...

I always thought of the Z-28 as an afordable musclecar....this is more like a Yenko version...
