Bmw Z2 preparing its debut by 2011
There are reports that indicate a current, entry-level roadster derived on the 1-series and propelled by a lineup of economical 4-cylinder powerplants are in the works at the BMW plant. The company will make a decision at the end of 2009 whether to get the car to production for the 2011 model year or not.

There are talks of an alleged Z2 roadster that have been going around for at least three year, but nothing has come of it up until this time. Although there are preview images of the possible design but they do not have official stamp on them making them nothing but pure speculation.Banking on these speculations then we can expect a series of 4-cylinder engines including a 120hp (90kW) entry-level version and a 211hp (157kW) turbo engine could be in the plans for the smallest roadster by BMW.

I'm not sure where you're getting 38,000 from. The current exchange rate from Euros to Dollars is 1.279. A 25,000 euro car would be about 31,500 in dollars.

That thing is hideous!!!

I know people are buying regardless how ugly they are, but BMW please watch and learn from auto makers in US. Don't try to be another Chrysler/GM/Ford. Make something beautiful again!!!

Please!!!

That looks like very cartoonish. Should be more like the stunning new Z4.

120HP? Sad...... Is the next step switching to FWD to simplify platform and reduce cost like an AUDI?

If S2000 already have output of 210hp in NA form, BMW's turbo 4 cylinder better have 250-270hp, otherwise, why bother?

Are you retarded? A 120 hp is a 120 hp by physics definition.

Spirited driving from a 120hp? Hahahaha.... OMG, how old are you? 85? Go drive a Corolla, which BTW has 132 hp.

Hahahaha....

DLIN,

A 132-hp Corolla might even be slower than a 120-hp Z2. Weight, gearing and engine characteristics have a lot to do with it. And this claim can probably made that the 120-hp Z2 engine will be BETTER than a 132-hp Corolla engine.

Lancia man is right when he states that 120-hp today are not the 120-hp they were in the past.

And you think I don't know about those fundamental stuff you talked about?

Read between the lines.

I drove a 3 and G, and I don't take some 120hp spirited driving BS.

It looks hideous - like an underdeveloped salamander version of a Nissan Z. Is this BANGLE's parting gift to BMW?

The current generation Mitsubishi Eclipse from the A-pillar back.

I like it.

From the A-pillar back, it looks more like the 350Z. It would be nice to have descent-looking mini-roadster. The new Z4 is great, but the that rendering would be a slick entry-level coupe.
