Mercedes-Benz E-class Coupe coming with the same price tag as the sedan
2010 Mercedes-Benz E-Class CoupeThis coming March at the Geneva Motor Show the Mercedes-Benz E-Class Coupe will have its world debut. The coupe comes with most of the new-gen E-class sedan’s equipment and powertrain packs. This is the reason why Mercedes is going to put the same price tag on the coupe as it did the sedan.

Prices for both will be announced at the Geneva event next month according to Mercedes-Benz.This month the E-class sedan will be available for sale though and the coupe will be available by June. In China, an extended wheelbase version of the sedan, which will be built there, will be offered in 2010. The E-class station wagon and cabriolet will be presented at the IAA in Frankfurt.

GOOD! cuz that is suppose to be how it was always suppose to be... raising the sticker on a 2 door compared to 4 door makes absolutely no sense... that proabably also explains why the sailes were so poor for the CL coupe compared to the S-class sedan

well if thats the case it should be the same price as the C class since thats the "sedan" its based on, and its actually no larger than the last generation CLK, which is probably why the price is the same as the e class, it actually got an increase in price over the CLK, but a name change some odd styling cues and voila now its an e class.

I think it looks good, but there are things that need improving... maybe it just looks too long for a coupe?

I think some out of work civil engineers were hired by merc design b/c that silhouette would make a beautiful bridge.

The outside is pretty sleek but the interior is ugly. It's the same as the current (new) C class. Not terrible but cheaper looking and feeling than the current E Class.

I'm actually debating whether or not to order one and sell my current car. I currently drive an '06 C230 (V6) 6 speed, which I love, but I am in the market for something sporty with two doors, elegant and safe and being satisfied with my current car made me look at Mercedes again. I like the attention to detail in Mercedes cars, how every bit of the interior is used to create as much space as possible for occupants (in my experience).

With the new coupe, I like what I am seeing and I look forward to seeing it in person. That should convince me.

Pricing aside... the picture that accompanies this thread is NOT flattering in the least, as a matter of fact the E-Coupe pictured looks quite unattractive/ungainly. Let's hope it makes a better visual impression 'in the metal'.

It's not good looking i'm afraid, the lines do not flow well, the competition will eat this thing.
I would personally hold out for a Jaguar XF 2dr Coupe, if the sedan version of the Jag looks as cool as it already does, imagine how hot the coupe version will be!

I love this car. I was wondering what I was going to trade my CLK in for and this is definitely it! Can't wait to see the E in person.
