Sailor, sometimes there's no use in arguing with Turbospyder because he is so delusional with his quasi "logic" and superior bible thumping ways. He will never change because he really does not want to be a better human. He only wants to point out the shortcomings of other people not like him. Have you seen the film "Religulous" from Bill Maher? I know you would appreciate it, I was dying of laughter.

Turbo, Rational logical truth hurts sometimes doesn't it? If you saw the movie, that's what it was about. Bill Maher is a brilliant comedian, and that's why you hate him, like so many other people you hate that are not like you. You also hate him because he's made a career out of exposing something you bought into or were indoctrinated into believing. Be afraid....be very afraid...

Dear God, please save me from people like Turbospyder that believe in you!

TurboSpyder, I have studied for several years as a biologist and an evolutionary biologist. If you have seen what I have seen you would not feel the way that you do.
Just because we can't yet explain how RNA arose on the earth or where it came from does not automatically mean that the bible is correct, you are not a good scientist and not very logical. I do not discount the possibility of other explanations but I do discount the super-natural and especially the mythologies that man has created to try to alleviate his numerous questions about the universe.

Thanks for the quotes from the bible, I have read enough already, now it's time for you to read another book, not one about Judaeo-Christian mythology.

It's funny when people try to defend their arguments with the bible because you know that's when they really don't have one.

Sorry, I got bored reading your comment and overlooked your question. Was this it?

"Do you know of any other religions or myths where such prophesies have actually come true?"

No, because I'm not a religious fanatic. I rely on reason and educating myself to make informed decisions. Statistically, like Nostradamus' several prophecies, if you make enough of them, some are bound to become true. Nostradamus has been proven to be fake, why not the bible?

The problem with your reasoning is that you use too much inductive reasoning. As I have mentioned to you earlier, study the world with an open mind, not one cluttered with baggage from what was drilled into you since childhood. True enlightenment cannot be attained with a closed mind.

"Dr. Francis Collins, who was the head of the international Human Genome Project that mapped the human genome disagrees with you."

Sure, I could still believe in some type of organization within the universe and that we are part of a bigger whole. I'm not adverse to that, but if you have seen what I have seen you would certainly not believe that the earth was created in six days and is only 6000 years old. I don't think that Dr. Collins thinks that either. Your problem is that you are not comfortable with the unknown and are satisfied in believing in something for security reasons. I am comfortable in saying that I really don't know all the answers and will always search for them my whole life. Isn't that really what life is about? Finding out, discovering, becoming enlightened?

This is the first time I have seen Sailor get deboosted ?
Perhaps for speaking his mind out about Jews etc ( maybe he is muslim/agnostic or just an atheist ).

There are a couple of flaws to Sailor's story, Virgin Birth and Walking on Water are not supposed to make sense cuz as Christ was not an ordinary human, he was a superhuman ( literary an angel in human form ). It is not supposed to make sense since he is not human.

As long as making sense is concerned, Some of our scientists are quite stupid as well since they are looking for traces of water, oxygen, particulates on mars for forms of life. Well mates, what if the aliens don't need water and air, but survive through anaerobic respiration and are made of acids.

Also, you mentioned somewhere that God has not come down to Earth in 2 millenia...God is everywhere, he does not need to come down, angels/messengers come down in human form for us mere mortals to learn good stuff from them.

And oh yes, I am AGNOSTIC - I believe in God, not organized religion.
xPEACE TO ALLx

From Wikipedia: "http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Israel"

"The modern state of Israel has its roots in the Land of Israel (Eretz Yisrael), a concept central to Judaism since ancient times,[8][9] and the heartland of the ancient Kingdom of Judah to which modern Jews are usually attributed.[10] After World War I, the League of Nations approved the British Mandate of Palestine with the intent of creating a "national home for the Jewish people."[11] In 1947, the United Nations approved the partition of Palestine into two states, one Jewish and one Arab.[12] On May 14, 1948 the state of Israel declared independence and this was followed by a war with the surrounding Arab states, which refused to accept the plan. The Israelis were subsequently victorious in a series of wars confirming their independence and expanding the borders of the Jewish state beyond those in the UN Partition Plan. Since then, Israel has been in conflict with many of the neighboring Arab countries, resulting in several major wars and decades of violence that continue to this day.[13] Since its foundation, Israel's boundaries and the State's right to exist have been subject to dispute, especially among its Arab neighbors and their many Palestinian refugees. Israel has signed peace treaties with Egypt and Jordan, though efforts for a long-lasting peace with the Palestinians have so far been unsuccessful."

Also read "Israel's forgotten Palestinians":
Isreal's policies towards their Palestinian citizens is almost akin to South Africa under apartheid.

The British and the French foreign policies of that era screwed up the Middle East for generations to come. I can't say that the US is doing much better now in the region.

Blind support of Israel by the US is not the best course of action for the US. This, in fact, was one of the major points made by Osama bin Laden in his alleged fatawah.

First and foremost Israel makes policies that are in their best interest, not in the best interest of the US. When the US offers 100% support to Isreal's transgressions in the UN (the US is on of the few if not the only country that has never voted agains Israel in any UN resolution) it serves only to undermine our credibility with the rest of the world. We need to rethink our foreign policies; we need to get our troops out of that part of the world.

FYI, the other day, when I asked you about whether Europeans or Africans should be allowed to immigrate to the USA you did not answer either, that's because you're embarrassed to admit that you only think that Europeans should be allowed entry.

Samuel Goldwyn, Adolf Zukor, Warner Brothers - Eastern Europeans

"The grand irony of all of Hollywood," as Neal Gabler points out, "is that Americans come to define themselves by the shadow America that was created by Eastern European Jewish immigrants who weren’t admitted to the precincts of Real America."

"Do you know what the immigration laws in the U.S. used to be? They didn't let in all Europeans."

After I read this I remebered myself some documentary that I saw some time ago about "who created Hollywood".
