Rendering: 2011 BMW 5 Series

Many renderings of the 2011 BMW 5 Series have been going around for a while, some closer to the real deal than others. Many believed that the next 5 Series will be taking lots of design elements from the bigger brother, 7 Series, and they came up with a scaled down version of the 7er.

Obviously, they were wrong. Historically, the BMW 5 Series was never considered the 7er little sibling and this is NOT about to change now. But what we can tell you for sure is that the 2011 BMW 5 Series will indeed combine several design cues from other models, starting with the canceled CS Concept, the new 5 Series GT and the 2009 BMW 7 Series.

So, by collecting all the information we posted in the last few months and with the huge help from the leaked photo of the 5 Series, we decided to ask our friend Andy Valencia to draw a new rendering for us.

Since this is not an official photo I will not base my comments on this. i Think it looks more like the CS concept more than the 7 series. But BMW always has something up their sleeves when it comes to teh 5 series because that is one of there top sellers next to the 3 series

How would it in any way? Lexus copied the 5series design with their new LS.
And im assuming tht it will have rear lights similar to the 3-series coupe with some sort of unnescecary chrome line in the middle.

I guess BMW will follow the footsteps of Audi with the "monotonous" design philosophy... boring as hell :)

A3=A4=A6=A8, 1er=3er=5er=7er etc... thank god we have Lexus, which all uniquely different!

I think BMW will have a hard time going wrong with whatever they serve up as "The New 5 Series". It'll look good by comparison to what we have today.
