Honda And Mazda Now Contemplating Japanese Federal Assistance
Honda Motor Co., suffering from a 38 percent plunge in U.S. auto sales in February, may ask to borrow money from Japan’s government to lend to U.S. car buyers.

The amount of the loans and timing of the request to the state-owned Japan Bank for International Cooperation haven’t yet been determined, spokeswoman Akemi Ando said by phone today. Mazda Motor Corp. is also considering a request for government loans, spokesman Toyota Tanaka said today.

So you must also be laughing at the Detroit three as well? Remember, they're trying to take advantage of the low interest rate more than anything else. Remember Star, at you not with you.

Star, why is that funny? I usually don't make personal attacks, but your comment is immature. Do you realize that these car companies losing money affects all of us directly if not indirectly.

It's a world-wide recession. Not really a surprise that non-US automakers are getting hit too.

Greenspan: "There has not been a recession this bad since the 1930's."
Will somebody tell this guy it was called the Great Depression!
Now we are in the Great Global Depression of the 21st Century.
Get in line BMW, MB, Audi/VW for asking Germany a bailout, you are next.

Circa 1929…
When America sneezes, the rest of the World catches a cold.
Circa 2009…
When America f*rts, the rest of the World sh*rts.
America has no monopoly on Greed or any of the other six deadly sins; the rest of the World jumping in the derivatives and Maddox, etc. bandwagon did them in as well.

As usual weak minded individuals need to blame rather than come up with a clue. No one told imports to base their growth on our market. Japan, Germany being greedy decided they wanted to take a gamble and build factories here and to capitalize off an opportunity. Called free market, and with a free market for every success, come failure. Deal. Like everyone has been saying, step back, re-structure and go at it again.
