Toyota hybrids go haywire

Toyota Motor Corp. said it will recall 160,000 of its Prius hybrid-engine cars because of possible engine problems, according to a media report.

Toyota said the recall is worldwide, the Dow Jones News Service reported.

Toyota said it plans to recall 75,000 Prius cars in the U.S., another 70,000 in Japan and the remainder in Europe, Australia and other markets, Dow Jones said.

The gasoline engines in some Prius cars overseas have stalled , causing the vehicles to operate solely on the electric motor, Dow Jones reported, adding that Toyota said a glitch in electronic control units may be responsible.

No accidents or injuries have been reported, Dow Jones said Toyota reported.

It goes to show that Toyota engineer are human after all. And I guanteed to you that Toyota won't be the first or last. Since hybrid engine are so new, I predict in the future other Auto company will has similar problems. And you know what? at least Toyota has the dignity to admit it fault and try to corrected; unlike some other car company out there.

without reliability on their side, Toyota would be nothing. They'd just be another Japanese company making bland, uninspiring cars that are clinically designed, lifeless to drive, and completely lacking in flair or character.

I don't care how reliable they are, they are nasty cars. I've driven a few, and completely forgotten the experience.

Hey y u r always behind bashing Toyota and so other Japos.

What harm they have done to u or to other TOYOTA bashers.

Just that their sales r strong,line-up is the best,cars r loved by everyone,have a long life cars,extreme reliability....etc

I am a honest person say what it is.I even love other cars but they can't compete with Toyota's Fame.

So please find another looser car to bash but not a winner.

I have reasoning behind my comments, but you fail to read past the first line of peoples posts.

Now, If you can prove to me that my comments:
