Lexus LF-A a go?

The Japanese super car race is on! Lexus has unveiled that its LF-A concept car is to get some serious muscle.

This striking two-seater super sports car will get a V10 engine. Until now the car's power train was a secret and Lexus also didn't tell where the engine will be located.

Now it appears as if the LF-A will be front-engined and rear-wheel drive.

However, some are surprised that Lexus opted for a V10 engine as F1 is on the V8 route for 2006. It was widely believed that the LF-A was suppose to be a showcase for Toyota's F1 philosophy.

But with Honda readying its new V10 NSX and Nissan also hinting at a new super car with its GT-R concept, it would be no surprise if the LF-A goes into production.

I still think this wont happen.

Toyota will focus on the Supra.

Lexus will focus on its current models.

The chances of a V-10 Lexus are slim. Or at the least 5 years away.

And this source is sketchy...... Wheels 24 ?????

I'll wait till Toyota confirms something.

... what some could have done was instead of "waiting for Toyota to confirm it" (which they have) would be to go to the Toyota website, go to the Pressroom and find out for themselves! :)

That means a production, build date, specs etc.

Tell me where on Toyota.com it lists if and when this vehicle will be produced.

The GS 450h is likewise a concept. However, we know that production of the vehicle will occur and it will be released next year as an 07' model. All I can say is this: The V-10 has been produced. We will know more on the 19th at Tokyo. I am sorry that I have offended you so greatly by misunderstanding you....

...what you had not known.

What was not known before this release was whether or not a V-8 or V-10 would be in the engine bay. Toyota was deciding on either one based on the upcomming F1 regulations but seeing that Acura is putting a V-10 in their new supercar, Toyota changed their mind to compete with more power.
