BMW designs a futuristic computer case
At CEBIT 2009, world’s largest computer expo, BMW Designworks USA in cooperation with Thermaltake presented a futuristic computer case named Level 10. As we know, Designworks USA have done some cool things in the past, the interior decoration of a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, an expresso machine for Starbucks, and more recently, the Bavaria Deep Blue Yacht.

Level 10 case is not your regular computer case, where internal components are placed inside a box, but rather on the outside attached to a metal frame and within their own compartments.

Looks more purposeful than the X6, and with the pending failure of the 5 Series GT, it's a probably a smart move to explore other markets to balance out the loss. ;-)

I think its cool. Something different that a basic tower. A nice change of pace, something they would use in a movie to make some one seem like they are geeked out with technology.

Actually this is awful. there are plenty of excellent looking/ futuristic computer cases out there. BMW should stick to making cars.

design doesn't simply happen in a vacuum. the best designers in ANY arena often work in many media...it's keep them creative, challenges them and provides the opportunity to leverage ideas from one category to the next.

so it makes perfect sense that design leaders in automotive (like bmw and porsche) have divisions that design many things. porsche is the leader here and has done everything from sunglasses to poggenpohl kitchens.

don't be so myopic guys.
