2010 Mazda CX-7 officially makes its debut
Following its debut at the 2009 Canadian International Auto Show, Mazda brought the new 2010 Mazda CX-7 to the 2009 Geneva Motor Show. The successful Mazda crossover, with total sales passing 165,000 units and more than 10 global automobile awards, the 2010 model gets an appealing new facelift.

While the European market will get Mazda’s MZR-CD 2.2 diesel and the 2.2 DOHC turbocharged common-rail diesel, the U.S. market will get a choice of two gasoline options. The first will be a 2.5L MZR 4-cylinder unit that makes 161-hp and a torque of 161 lb-ft. It will be mated to a 5-speed automatic transmission and a front-wheel-drive system. Nice, the front is kind of CX-9 meets Mazda6. I like the way Mazda is going with their designs, clean and sleek with a bit of muscle look to them. If I hadn't bought my C70 I was going to buy a Mazda6.

I just returned my '08 CX-7 lease last month. Good car, no interior vibrations - and I abused it, but the electronic throttle system was very NON-responsive and annoying, extremely slow full throttle starts from a stop. Full turbo would kick in only from 3rd gear on.

IMO a diesel would make this more appealing. Also 500lbs of weight loss would help. I like Mazda but they are porkers for the most part.

Can't deny Mazda makes better looking cars than Toyota, Honda and Nissan.

Actually Garmins and Tom-Toms have equal screen size for their navi's and they work just fine, even visibly of coarse. In certain Mazda models this looks quite convincing and I have seen this feature on both the 2010 Mazda3 & CX-7 upfront in full operation with no problems reading it out. Keep in mind where Mazda is position in the competitors market, this is good cost effective & practical move on their part, and other brands will soon to follow.

What i like about the CX-7 is that even though it has a futuristic looking dash/audio face - i was able to pull it out easily and put my own 3 pre-out head unit. U just pull on the plastic aluminum looking things on each side of the radio and 4 screws hold the actual radio amp in, then just put ur own Double-din kit - & u have nice sound. Under the tray in the bak, by the spare tire there is plenty of space for 2 amps. Looks like the '10 ones kept the same basic easy remove audio concept. My sound system compensated for the power lag around town. I'd have to use my V6 stickshiftcamry to get satisfy my acceleration needs - lololololol.
