2011 BMW 5 Series First Interior Photos and possible the new M5
Unfortunately, the quality of the photos it’s not the best, but….for the first time, we get to see the fully uncovered interior of the new 2011 BMW 5 Series (F10). Our reader, who wishes to remain anonymous, told us that the interior looks almost identical to the new 7 Series, including the wood paneling on the sides.

As far as the exterior design, he shared with us that the new 5er looks wider, but somewhat shorter than the current E60 5 Series

After examining the photos closer, I noticed the square exhaust pipes, very similar to the 7 Series and….a clear indication that this test car could be either the high-end 550i model or even the M5.

BMW needs a good interior designer. It looks cluttered and unresolved. Shape of Nav merged within just reminds me of ACCORD. At least it's somewhat saved by the wood trim under.

Now if only they can add better material palette to 3 series. Even E46 3 has better interior. Start with that cheap plastic console PLEEZ......

And if I'm not mistaken, see that turning knob right in the middle under the vent? OMG, someone loves ACCORD too much!

Wow how ignorant. This car is under testing right? What do you expect in most cars under these conditions? Test equipment maybe?

Cluttered interrior...Get a life buddy. Interior looks great, Im a fan of the current BMW interior, i find it classy, yes that is my opinion and my reason to buy a BMW. Not a biased comment.

Really? Then I guess you may like GAP or Banana Republic.....
It goes well w/ BMW interior :)

Looks similar to the new 7-series interior which i think looks great! This interior looks like a step up from the e60. I think you're just biased dlin. ;-)

Really? Why should I be biased when I own an E46 3? The main reason I didn't go for E90 330 when I was getting the other car is its cheap central console. Underpower is of course another big one.

"Underpower is of course another big one" - dlin

This tells me that you know very little about the E90, since every iterations has more power and is faster than E46 it replaced.

'Underpowered' compares to the other car I eventually get, G35.
Don't be stupid.

Seriously... Seems a bit convoluted and confused IMO.

Is this supposed to be a step forward, or just change for the sake of change? I'm going with the latter on this one.

Er, I'm pretty sure that's a photo of testing of the current all-new 7 Series. jeez louise ...

You're right, we got fooled by the photos. For some reason, BMW is still testing the F01 SWB 7 Series. The photographer was convinced that we have the 5 series

The 2011 BMW 5-Series will be pure perfection ;->

I was invited to 2010 5 series consumer clinic in 10/2008. Very similiar in style to new 7. Interior materials were of high quality and center console is canted toward driver. That is why only right knob is visible in picture. Rear tail lamps looked similar to X5, not to 2009 7 series. Do not remember front air dam looking so ominous like current computer images are rendering. Tailpipes were round with dual exhaust. Overall 2010 5 series seemed very good. Comparison models were 2008: BMW 5, Mercedes E Class and Lexus GS.

What a lame article! This is obviously a 7 series! The interior isn't similar to a 7 series, it's exactly the same!

so far I think it looks ok and if the the interior is going to be pretty close to the same as the 09 7 series look out DAVID969 becasue the 2009 7 series interior is the best in its class and it will do wonders for the 5. cant really make a judgement on the car now but i like what i see

While I do expect the new 5-Series interior to have some similarities to the new 7-Series interior, I am just about 100% sure the reason they look so identical in these photos is that this IS a 7-Series.

Just when I finally got used to the Bangle 5 series (it took about 3 years)...now we have to start all over again. The 5 series has never been a small 7 series, but looks like it will be now. This is a definate mistake, if these photos are real. The 5 has always been a beautiful and very distinctive car. This new trend sucks.

Ricks2Dogs - i agree. i just got used to the bangle 5 and actually i love it right now but this new one seems like it may take me quite while to get to like but i'll save that judgment for when i see it in person.

It has to be the 5 series in the photo, not the 7. Why would they bother to cover up the car's appearance if it was the 7? BMW already gave the official press release on that.

Great article on luxury performance cars. I also found this article to have good information on new luxury performance cars coming out this year.
