Acura's crossover concept to be called 2011 Acura MSX
Yesterday a bunch of images of a new Acura Crossover Concept hit the web prior to the vehicle’s 2009 New York Auto Show debut.

According to the buzz over at Temple of VTEC and Acurazine (who originally leaked all the teasers to the Acura concept), the concept hints at the future production version of what is known as the 2011 Acura MSX. The MSX will be aimed directly at BMW’s X6 and Infiniti’s FX crossovers.

Power is expected to come from Acura’s...

I'm not sure why they are calling it a 2011. Its tentatively scheduled to come out this fall as a 2010 model.

— Badgewhore:

"Now we have an overweight acura sporty SUV to compete with BMWs X6 which doesn't even have a solid market base. Both BMW and Acura models were designed for the people who caused this economic meltdown."

That's probably the most accurate description. These are cars for bankers and brokers.

I'd like to point out though key and a bit hidden culprits are simply ordinary citizens who lived beyond their means and buried themselves carelessly in debt, not the banks that loaned to them.

No one forced those people to consume too much, they were only encouraged to do so.

well, the name, Acura is only brand without numbers in their name. most of them have numbers with the name.

When was the last time that Acura created a note worthy car? Sorry but Acura builds some of the lamest vehicles. And this includes the TL (all years)

Which Acura can outperform the lexus IS350?

That is the dumbest thing I've read in awhile. Acuras are slow, with old engines and 5 speed trannies. They have nothing as fast as the LS 460, 600, GS 460, 450h, 350, IS 350 let along IS-F.

When an Acura sedan gets 0-60 in the low 5 second range AT LEAST post it

"Which Acura can outperform the lexus IS350? "

The NSX. Or even the new TL SH-AWD.

Where to start???

A topic brought up by a sneak preview of Acura's new "sporting" SUV, brings all you shallow people out of the wood works. Tsk, tsk... You would hate for anyone to judge one of you by the clothes you wear or by the crappy car you most likely drive, but here "you" are going on about aesthetics. When's the last time aesthetics got you to work reliably? Or how about that 0-60 time? Did aesthetics make your said car faster? Probably not... I see plenty of "Ugly" cars that have tons of HP & torque, should I figure them slow? What goes through the mind of a person that keeps harping on the idea of RWD? Wake up! RWD will be extinct and will only thrive in the exotics, which "your" measly salary couldn't afford (let alone mine, lol) anyways. How many RWD passenger vehicles will be on the road in 5-7 years? Not many... But keep up the intelligent posts, about aesthetics and go completely off the topic some more (sarcasm). I'll be here reading them and laughing...

BarackBush - You're the most hilarious... You claim nothing, but say so much! You bash, without any explanation. Someone gives you real facts and figures; you shrug off truth then make another outrageous claim without any factual back-up... Volvo? Cadillac? Gm and Ford? Hmm... Could we see some sales figures before you start that crap? Slow? Slow in what comparison? 0-60 times? wow! That means alot when you're on the 405 in traffic. These are passenger vehicles, meant to be driven IN. Not just looked at by the people who can't afford them... To constantly come on here and put down the same thing, shows your intelligence. I keep sticking up for the fact that aesthetics don't make a good car, because if so: what BMW would be better than the last 20yrs of BMWs? Why make new cars at all? Let's all drive little compact German sedans... Acuras' aren’t only built here in America (sarcasm)... And to end with this: When I’m in my car and the guy next to me is in his, who the hell cares what we think about each others' cars! It's about what I chose and what he chose. Because believe it or not we're all individuals! Watch out for that cliff, you Lemmings!

One last point: If I walked up to a child, and said that the child I was staring at was horrid. Would the Mother have a right to be upset? Would I be considered anything less than an A-hole? Does that mother see nothing but beauty when she gazes upon her child? And why is that, because beauty is in the eye of the beholder. You can’t prove that your perspective is more “RIGHT” than anyone else. So shut up, if you can’t back up your opinion! No one likes a “know-it-all” who doesn’t know it all… Next?!

Well considering the garish looking Acura's, Honda has been designing lately (RL, MDX and TL), I can almost guarantee this MSX is going to look hideous.

So Acura is copying the AMC Eagle/Aztek/X6 for what?

Don't they realize that the X6 is a massive sales failure? This will sell better than the X6, but anyone can do that. Too bad development for the MSX started taking place before the economy tanked and the X6 got aboard the fail train.

Let's see what sort of ugly front end it will have. The TL's is horrible! The back end of the TL aint bad though... Not to mention that Honda seems to choose some pretty ugly wheels for their Acura brand, come on, even the Toyota Venza comes with 20's, get with it Honda

because 20" wheels really make a car? Do you have any idea what a larger diameter wheel does performace-wise or comfort-wise for that matter? Stop caring about appearances you dopes! Why now in the last 10 yrs are bigger "bling'd" out wheels a big deal? Do we know more now than we did 40 yrs ago? Or is it we care more now, to be seen? Think about it you sheep! A Toyota Venzas selling point are it's wheels? Wow! Toyota is gonna make a killing...

Not sure what is lamer, Acura or Acura fanboys who support this ugly crap and mediocrity. They are all ugly, slow and can't begin to compete with BMW, Benz, Audi. Then Lexus and Infiniti spank them left and right. Then so does Volvo and Cadillac.

SO lame
