Audi Skeptical of Tata Nano in European Market
Tata is a company making headlines lately. For those that don’t know, Tata Motors is the Indian car manufacturer looking to expand to the global market with it’s micro car the Tata Nano. Even more noteworthy, in an ironic twist of fate, the Indian auto firm recently purchased British carmakers Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford Motor Company’s Premier Auto Group.
Tata has also made the claim that it can produce a new micro car that will undercut most small vehicles in the micro cars market such as the Smart Fortwo with a $2,500 price tag. These claims made big headlines last summer as gas prices in most of the U.S. were creeping past the $4.00 per gallon mark and SUV sales began to slump, small, efficient and cost-effective cars such as the Toyota Prius sales were heading skyward. In that same time, Tata decided to tell the world its intentions to bring its Nano the U.S. and Europe.

That car has a fresh cheeky look to it ... The straight hood and windshield reminds me of the Guigiaro designed Daewoo Matiz, which was the WORLD'S MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR in 1998.

Audi needs to shut up the hell up and worry about themselves instead of attacking other car makers. It makes them look stupid. Audi should be above these kind of things.

I can see a new Audi commercial featuring a bunch of Nanos zooming around in the city when suddenly the R8 V10 appears and manages to outrun them all.

Funny thing...that Audi takes notice, and actually has to say something about it. Tata Motors should take this as a huge compliment. As for Audi, sounds like words of being intimidated. It's not about the lack of performance, safety, style, etc...what Audi is more so confused about is the simple fact of building a car that cheap in cost...NOW THAT IS WHAT SCARES AUDI THE MOST! Let alone thier parent hub VW...LMAO!!!

Front fascia is Smart car, rest is Daewoo Matiz(Chevrolet Spark). This should remain in India, good alternative to bicycle and motorcycle.

1UAW - I hope you understand this car comes as an alternative to scooters and motorcycles in India at almost the same price, and is way safer than them. This car was designed with the sole objective of being the cheapest to buy and run and be more spacious than the next cheapest car, which is still twice as expensive.

Game Won by Nano on Level 1 IMO

The Nano is being prepared for the European market. That means, airbags, ABS, and a few other things that won't be on basic Indian models. As such, the price for European markets wouldn't be expected to be US$2500. Come now. Enough with the stupid remarks.
