Let us hope and pray that it does not look as ugly, boring, and generally Fordish as the last one looked.

RWD? That's cool! OK, Honda, you how about responding with a new Integra (and yes, please call it an Integra.)?

the Integra was FWD. and it was an Acura, not a Honda.

still, it would be nice if honda found a way to slash $10,000 out of the costs of the S2000, rename it (to not hurt value of current s2000s) and offer that as their answer to the celica.

it should be sweet and can you make these cars a little more roomier for the tall people

The last Celica was a disgrace to the Celica name.

They better do a good job on this car. Are you listening Honda?

style wise, the last celica ALSO kicked ass. FAR MORE modern and edgy than anything out of detroit.

many people thot it sorta looked like a Ferrari, looks wise. just as the last MR2 did.

Its only previous "competitors" were civics and Sentras. So, I guess they could of been scared of the BRUTAL POWA that I-4 put out!? Oh, nevermind, it was that its engine would blow up before 50k miles. Id be scared too!

its engine was good enuff to be chosen and installed in the lotus elise.

in which, in a test in R&T, it outraced ALL sports cars except the viper on the short track.

Now all they need is the All-Trac turbo to come back, this would be great if this car is going to co-developed w/ subaru

I think Toyota finally got the message! There finally discontinuing their 'Visual-Gravol' design language. (At least I hope so.)

So, far I've been more than impressed with their latest Venza; top notch quality materials, smooth ride (Despite the DUB 20s), quiet interior and just enough power to get you where you need to be going.

If Toyota utilizes more of the Venza's design elements throughout the entire brand... then damn! (Trust me, you've actually got to drive the Venza before you actually appreciate it - I hated it at first.)

Can't wait for this next Celica! I hope they make it a 370Z/Mustang/Camaro/Genesis Coupe fighter!

This could be the start of the Japanese sports car warz, now we just need the return of the Prelude or Integra, 240 or 250 (depending on the engine choice by Nissan), and a respectable Eclipse.

Too bad the original plan was to launch this car in late 2011--according to Toyota--and they've since confirmed a delay. A 2010 launch--without a single prototype having been photographed--is ludicrous. Would love to have whatever M. Dombreval (or the reporter who 'quoted' him) is smoking...

The Celica has always been a cheap econobox that had sporty intentions, but never really delievered. Toyota doesnt have much experience with anything performance oriented, so I wont hold my breath this thing with be anything but a tarted up Corolla with an S badge.

Oh, and to the guy who said the Celica was special because you can build them to 900hp. You can build anything to 900hp. A civic with a huge turbo pushing 25psi is nothing special, and neither were those ugly Celicas.

Hope they come out with a modern day GTS version, ala 1985 style. It could fill the void left by 200-240sx series and be a drifting sensation
