Official: Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG is the F1 Safety Car for this season
The 2009 Formula One season will be guaranteed maximum safety by the SL 63 AMG, as the Official F1 Safety Car, and the C63 AMG Estate, as the Official F1 Medical Car.

The performance brand of Mercedes-Benz will be on duty with the two specifically prepared high-performance cars at all 17 races of the new season Formula 1, beginning with a first appearance at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne that will commence on March 27 and finish on March 29. The cars were developed, produced and serviced by the experts of the AMG PERFORMANCE STUDIO. When the race is under the threat of accidents, unfavorable weather states or other unsafe conditions, the Official F1 Safety Car is deployed.

Obviously but those two cars miss the most important factor SL delivers brilliantly.

The Octogenarian POWERRRRRRRR!

Proof you can still retain some muscles even in your late nineties.

David969, once and for all, STFU! You are an ignorant moron, proof is in the pudding;

Watch a SL63 and the TT-S punish your beloved IS-F.
The track is the ultimate story teller.
You know nothing and you are annoying.

Would you rather have a Lexus SC430 as a safety car? LMAO, please.

Nice... I always love the safety car's looks, especially when it has all the little lights blinking.

| I would agree with that. Kpaxx has been doing nothing but throwing
| personal insults at us Lexus fans.

It's true (although I'm not a fan of brands but technologies they employ when making a car).

I've just read the Prius thread in which kpaxx failed to comprehend that, when making a Prius, mining and processing 30 pounds of nickel to save 3000 gallons of crude oil and cut CO2 emissions by several TONNES (over 20 years of service, when compared to VW Jetta diesel) is a massive environmental and economical benefit.

Clearly he's incapable of any logical reasoning which renders his comment completely worthless.

Is the IS-F actually a better handling car than the "SL Safety Car". Do you have evidence to prove this david969/MrButtwurst. Is the IS-F actually a more reliable car than "SL Safety Car", especially when driven under race-like conditions? Where is your evidence?

Any Safey car should be very reliable cause it will reach very high speeds in some moments and beside that the engine should be able to keep working fine under very stressing conditions , thats why they were using SL and Black series CLK....I don´t thing ISF can do it...
