The company is named after the star cluster Pleiades, which in Greek mythology is known as the Seven Sisters, and in Japanese mythology the name is "Subaru", which roughly translated into English means, "to govern", "unite," or "gather together". The company logo is influenced by the star cluster. The large star in the logo represents Fuji Heavy Industries, and the five smaller stars represent the current five companies that are united under the FHI group.

How are the shit in the snow? Do you even know what a Boxer engine is... or symmetrical all wheel drive? GTFO of AutoSpies you n00b. MPG is decreased because of the standard symmetrical all wheel drive. Have you ever even driven a Subaru before?

Subaru's don't suck. I drive my 08 Legacy and have had no problems, in fact I think the quality and performance is equal to my previous Hondas and Acura! I think the design, while conservative, is better than any boring Toyota. I put on about 1000 miles a week, I get on average 27-28 MPG in mixed driving. This car is great...so Fatty...unless you can do better than that you say so...your argument is rather pointless. And I would like to point out their sales, Subaru's are one of the few that are actually selling a levels higher than last year! What's your reason for that?

Kia is better how?

New Legacy better come with serious performance gear because the pics don't look good at all. That's coming from a Subie owner/loyalist.

Subaru is a good make and always has been. Their biggest problem is one of exterior design. They have come up with some real doosies culminating with the original B9 Tribeca. Oh my god! I thought,after looking at it,that the Pontiac Aztec wasn't such a bad design after all.I don't quite get their design philosophy. The previous Imprezza WRX was so much better looking then this current design. I really think Subaru would sell more cars if it just made somthing that was more attractive. This new Legacy I would call only OK,not excactly an incentive to get more buyers. Still Subaru has a good reputation and it's AWD system is one of the best on the market.

I live in Scarborough Ontario; Blacks, Hispanics, Indian/Sri-Lankan/Pakistani etc., Middle-Easterners AND WHITES are the MINORITY. I'm surrounded by NUMEROUS Chinese, Japanese, and Korean people on a daily basis... I think I of all people would KNOW what Subaru means.
