Hyundai Blue-Will Concept

Hyundai Blue-Will Concept
The Hyundai Blue-Will Concept is powered by an all-aluminium Gasoline Direct Injected 1.6-litre engine.

The unit is coupled to a Continuously Variable Transmission and a 100kw electric motor which is at the heart of its parallel hybrid drive architecture.

The Blue-Will has a five-door hatchback body style with an original design defined by the intersecting character lines on the sides and by the the A and C pillars, which become part of the roof center structure leaving a glass area above the doors.

Electric power is stored in a Lithium Ion Polymer battery pack, bundled with the fuel tank under the rear seat to maximise luggage space.

Hyundai Blue Will ConceptRecycled PET soft drink bottles were used to make the material for the headlamp bezels while use has also been made of bio-plastics: PLA for the interior while PA11 was specified for the engine cover.

These materials are made from plants extract rather than fossil fuels and are bio-degradable.

The glass area of the panoramic roof integrates dye-sensitized solar cells which can generate power for the batteries from the sun without impeding visibility.

The Blue-Will Concept will debut at the Seoul Motor Show which opens on April 2nd 2009.

Huu, I think all these remarks (from anybody) under any thread about a new vehicle/concept on how it is similar to other cars already on the market have really started to become weary.

Years ago there were just few models coming from every manufacturer. Now nearly very niche has been filled and new ones are "invented". It's pretty bloody obvious cars have to be similar to one another. You can't desing a box on four wheels in that many unique ways.

Unless new designs are blatant ripoffs like those Chinese counterfeit products, we should stop criticizing every possible similarity.

Obviously, it's the most beautiful and inspiring car ever designed...

...if you're blind.
