Breakwater Blue Metallic

The IS design was warming on me, and I thought hey, a Lexus that doesn't look too bad.

But after looking at the various photos shown on this page, I've changed my mind.

This new design is ugly. Ugly is a strong word, but the rear end could only be described as such. The Banana-shape of the bootlid/taillight looks ill-concieved.

The front end is by far the best angle, but when I say best I mean relative to the rest of the car. The front valance is too wide and clunky, while the grille slats are fussy and cheap-looking.

the interior is unimaginative and stale. Many of the plastics look cheap and flimsy, and who said having gold-tinge (centre console) plastic was up-market? Tacky in anyone elses' eyes.

I still think the 3-series, despite the haters, is still a more timeless design. Its simple, but still exudes power and precision.

This new IS tries hard, but comes off second-best.
