Coolness on wheels: Does Audi have it?

I really like the new A4's looks. Especially the rear end. The disappointing thing for me is that you get the same great interior as prior models. Don't get me wrong, it's a great interior. But even Ford has started to catch up. I was hoping that some of the new A6 switchgear trickled down to the new A4. The color information screen should be standard on all Audi products, reserve the orange one for VW. Furthermore, I love the look of the new HVAC controls on the A6, lets see 'em on the 4.

As the current owner of a 2006 S-line A4 2.0T 6 speed manual Quattro and before that a 2004 1.8T Ultrasport (S-line) with the same 6 speed Quattro manual powertrain, to say the B7 is a mild update is putting it MILDLY. Every time I drive the new car I find it hard to believe they could move the car so far forward using the same platform. As 001 states, the interior needed nothing to begin with but I did order the B7 with the new Navigation+ and Bluetooth options which make it more interesting and safer to drive. The new Bi-Xenon adaptive HID lights put out a trmendous amount of light and improve cornering visibility. The new steering system responds much quicker and is much easier to park than the B6 but most of all I am really impressed with the ride quality. The B7 didn't give up a thing in the handling department from the B6 but the new rear suspension from the A6 is a godsend. Even with the S-line option it feels much more (dare I say) "Benz" like. Enough has been written about the 2.0T already so suffice it to say that I also sing it's praises. It is the one thing the B6 needed all along; MORE POWER! Even stock, I have even been able to capture and pull away from the occasional 330i with no problem. I will soon be giving the car the full APR treatment with exhaust and ECU upgrades which will supposedly make an even bigger difference in the power without the 200lbs weight penalty of the 3.2 V6 or it's $3900 additional cost. Gas mileage actually improved from the B6 1.8T in both highway and city modes. Not much, but about 1-2 mpg in both cases. It is also much quieter than before. I'm not sure why, because I am not aware of any additional sound deadening material in the car, but it is noticeable. Overall, I am very happy with all of the improvements made on the B7. If you were thinking of moving up but were thinking there wasn't enough differnce between the B6 and B7 models, go test drive one for longer than 10 minutes. There are tremendous improvements everywhere throughout.
