Hmm. I had no idea you could design and engineer a world class car of any type for $300 Million. Maybe buying an engine helps offset a lot of that.

Nice! I was a little disappointed when one of the new Mclaren spy photos were taken to find out it wasn't an f1 successor. But if they are going to have one in their line up. Kudos and best of luck to Mclaren!

Money never disappears, it just shifts hands. In the case of a recession, it shifts hands from the poor to the wealthy. If you don't believe me, look at the great depression and Duesenberg style cars.

Ultra luxury and super cars have a market for the most part. It's the economy brands that rely on selling millions of cars each year that are hurting.

Dont worry, the exotic car makers are not even close in the state that the Failing Three are in.

I wonder if their cars will be plush and refined on the inside like Bugatti and the newer Lambos and Ferrari's and even the R8? Or race inspired.

"Or race inspired."

McLaren is first and foremost known for it's F1 cars.

I can't wait for McLaren to make a comeback. Since Mercedes & McLaren have a close relationship they might as well use the AMG tuned V8 motors. Pagani has used Mercedes engines and look at how great it is. Can't wait to see this name plate back on the road with new designs.

Where does the Lexus LF-A fit into all of this?

And what happened to the "BMW Spies" on the front page. That was funny.

McLaren made (arguably) the best supercar ever, the McLaren F1 (BMW V12 engine might I add)...these guys know how to make cars!

Mclaren did an amazing job to that lazy v12. From 296hp to 627hp without forced induction is an amazing feat!

Having over 100hp per litre is the norm for European exotics.

And? That doesn't change how much the percent gains they got. Without forced induction.

Its BMW engineering for you. Still an essence of its companies direction today. The BMW engines are also used in some of the fastest cars today: The Ascari A10. It uses BMW's 5.0L V10, yet it produces 625hp.

The Pagani Zonda F Clubsport, another insanely fast car uses a 6.0L V12 to produce 625hp. ;)
