Hamilton disqualified from the 2009 Australian Grand Prix

Hamilton disqualified from the 2009 Australian Grand Prix
At the Australian Grand Prix last Sunday, Hamilton came in fourth place just behind Jarno Trulli of Toyota. However, after the race, Hamilton was promoted to third place because initial investigation showed that Trulli passed Hamilton under the safety car.

However, after a second investigation by the race stewards, it was found out that both Hamilton and Vodafone McLaren-Mercedes offered misleading evidence, which resulted in the disqualification of Hamilton and the team from the Australian results. The conclusion reached by the stewards was that McLaren had given instructions to Hamilton to permit Trulli pass, divergent from what originally Hamilton and McLaren told FIA.

At that level of racing it really boils down to skills more than anything mechanical. Toyota will never have an image of a Mercedes but in F1 that isn't the point. Teams have their ups and downs, i don't know why you're so proud of someone being disqualified. Hamilton's a good driver. If he was driving for Toyota you wouldn't be sipping that hatorade boy.

Mclaren Mercedes is really destroying their image. They lied to stewarts that Jarno overtook Hamilton, when hamilton was clearly instructed by Mclaren that he should slow down and give Jarno the palce back. Liers.

btw what a season this is turning to be. No more Ferrari vs Mclaren at the front. It's Toyota vs Honda(Ex) fighting at the front now. Great change there.

Yeah, the most biased on this site, TheLanciaFan, has simply nothing left than accusing others of doing what he does all the time.

Shall I quote your comments, TheLanciaFan, to prove the point?

And JUGNU just states facts, plain and simple.

Australian GP result should have been:
1. Brawn Mercedes
2. Brawn Mercedes
3. McLaren Mercedes
4. Toyota
McLaren was either too paranoid with all the punishment they received in the past (like Spa 2008) or just plain stupid.

Ex Honda is not going to fly Jugnu. They had many years to prove their worth. They changed that unreliable underpowerd HONDA for a MERCEDES and they can finally win.

Dont forget Brawn is using a Mercedes engine..So technically Mercedes did win..Its really hard to deny that they produce the best engines in the world.

tesla:
There isn't engine in F1 built by the Mercedes, it's sponsored by Mercedes and built by Britons who btw have always ruled in F1(together with Ferrari):

"Although Mercedes is stamped on the engine covers, they are in fact manufactured in Brixworth, Northamptonshire, England by Ilmor Engineering Limited. Who are the gray men from Brixworth? Ewan Tytler tells their story"

As if Honda Power has to prove anything to anyone. Maybe u don't know before Mercedes, Mclaren was powered by Honda and that was Mclaren's most successful era in F1. Honda was unbeatable. Senna achieved all his titles with Honda power and so did many others.

Honda's lack of performance had a lot to do with Engine freeze rule. This year Reanult was allowed to make some changes to their engine, as it was proved to be some 50-80BHP down compare to the leading teams, Reanault freezed an underpowered engine. Same was the case with Honda, but unfortunately they pulled out, and with them the news of their underpowered freezed engine was also gone. It appeared on some F1 websites for few days.

And btw Force India is also MB powered, then why it's not flying.
Actually Brawn and Toyota, and also Williams are ahead because of their innovative diffusers and Efficient aerodynamics.

Malaysian GP Qualifying:

1)Button-Brawn Mercedes
2)Trulli-Toyota
3)Glock-Toytoa

anyway i hope good luck to Toyota and Brawn. This is also good chance for Toyota to even score their maiden win.

It's nothing innovative. All the other teams thought the diffuser was not allowed and this matter should be solved by the 14th of April in court. Till then, I see BMW is doing an amazing job keeping up with the leaders WITHOUT the diffusers. Once the matter is resolved, I expect to see BMW up at the front.

LOL...
Formula 1 sets out strict construction guidelines for its Constructors when they engineer/construct the cars, essentially it should be 'roughly' an even playing field when it comes to specifications. Formula 1 is essentially driver skill. Put a shit Formula 1 driver like Mark Webber in a Mclaren and I doubt Mclaren Mercedes would win any Grand Prix :S

If you can use Formula 1 as a benchmark to Mercedes-Benz producing 'the best engines in the world' than you can down right say that it shouldn't be hard for Mercedes-Benz to get the votes of somewhat '65 renowned motoring journalists from 32 countries' in the International Engine of the Year award. XD

No doubt do Mercedes-Benz make good engines and obviously, because they are the pioneers of automotive industry; but certainly NOT 'THE' Best. ;)

Where are all the people last week that were ragging on Toyota for alleged cheating?

Still cheating, toyota's diffuser is still under debate and if proven illegal they will likely lose their points from the races this season!

McLaren-MB lying again, why am I not surprised? It looks like those cheaters are back to their old ways. I really hope they get banned for life this time around. Cheaters and liars suck big time.

Malaysian GP Race:

1)Jenson Button
2)Nick Heidfield<----- Very very lucky
3)Timo Glock
4)Jarno Trulli

So it was again Brawn vs Toyota at the front.Great job.
Ferrari and Mclaren should do something and quick. They seemed to be over-confident. F1 is about Engineering and not names. That a Ferrari or Mclaren will always be at the front. Good to see a change in pecking order. Ferrari and Mclaren at the front was getting boring.

We'll see how lucky Toyota and Brawn will be when the Diffuser rules are sorted out ;) and remember, BMW got so UNLUCKY in the 1st race.
