First ride in the Tesla Model S saloon (video)

Here is one lucky person who got to go for a ride in the all new Tesla Motors Model S and also captured it all on video.

The video was taken at a press conference for the new car where CEO Elon Musk revealed the vehicle. Multiple people got a chance to go for a ride in the new electric car where Mr Musk drove on blocked off roads and got to demonstrate the power of the vehicle. This car is not just vaporware people it can drive and as you can see from the video : both Elon and the person riding along are very much enthusiastic about the drive.

Well, since the head of engineering and manufacturing told Edmunds.com that they (Tesla) are shopping around to purchase an aluminum-intensive platform from an existing automaker, then I would have to say whatever was driven around was, in fact, a one-off piece of conceptual vaporware, since they clearly haven't made a deal yet...

At $49,900.00, that seems like a very reasonable price. I am not a huge fan of the over sized touch screen but I like the idea of less knobs and less clutter.
An American car company that is actually moving in the right direction, excellent~ Go Tesla!

I agree, the touch-screen as implemented in the concept is a bit too much. Also, it would cause quite a bit of glare at night... even an LCD displaying black is fairly bright due to the back-light being on all of the time. A LED screen would be better.
